Castlecrag Montessori School

This is a wonderful preschool located in Castlecrag. It's teachers are passionate and dedicated to the children. Our daughter loved her time at castlecrag montessori school. She loved her teachers and formed lovely friendships. The children's confidence and independence are nurtured and encouraged throughout their time at the school. This is amazing in readying them for school! The school as a community is lovely too, with lovely families helping run the school and support each other. We can't speak highly enough of CMS, our youngest is due to start here in the next few weeks!!

From our first Open Day visit to Castlecrag Montessori School, we could see that this was a special place. Our initial positive impressions were overwhelmingly confirmed when my wife and I attended a 'classroom observation' - an opportunity to see the CMS students and staff in action in their normal daily environment - which was an epiphany! Once we saw how these 3 to 6 year-old's worked so happily and diligently on their tasks, using the brilliant Montessori learning tools, it was a no-brainer for us to immediately enrol our first daughter. Our second daughter also joined the CMS classroom once she reached age 3 and both our girls completed their full 3 year cycle at CMS, before seamlessly transitioning into their local Public Primary School. CMS was without a doubt the best foundation for their future education that we could have given our girls. The love of learning that CMS instilled in our daughters persists today, and years later both girls still speak very fondly of their years at CMS. I cannot recommend CMS more highly.

A hidden gem. I think a lot of people are not aware of this school - the calibre of educators, the environment both inside and outside the classroom for kids to learn and explore within the setting is both extremely unique and rewarding. It’s been an enchanting experience for my daughter - and the parents who voluntarily come together to contribute and give back to the school community is testament to how much they feel their kids get so much out of it.

Beautiful little school, amazing teachers, and wonderful start to our daughters education. Both my daughters loved attending CMS, after nearly 5 years at the school, I highly recommend to any family looking for a nurturing and educationally stimulating environment for their child. The teaching staff are so caring and dedicated, it was really important for us that the staff were all highly trained and consistent. Montessori has been such a wonderful experience for my girls, we loved that the classroom was filled with so many interesting materials, that emotional wellbeing/critical thinking/independence/social confidence are all equally supported, and they have the most beautiful natural garden to explore every day during garden time (I still find gum nuts tucked away in tiny pockets!). My eldest has now graduated and has transitioned easily into primary school, and tells me every week at her little sisters' drop off, 'I love my new school mum, but I really miss CMS:)'
