Rude disrespectful unhelpful staff. There isn't enough time to write how badly I was treated by staff. Interesting how there are signs telling US to treat them with courtesy and respect when they treated me as though I was worse than a 2nd class citizen. Making a complaint does nothing either. Just means they probably note it on your file and then the next 'service officer' (and I use the term 'service' VERY loosely) knows you have complained and treat you even worse.

User

Not really competent, they gave me wrong a advise and end of financial year I had to pay money back.

User

Been there twice, both times staff were rude, abrupt, unhelpful and at times condescending.

User

Horrible. Spent hours waiting around. Saw a whole bunch of different people on the same day who kept sorting the very minimal out for me and then referring me to the self service computers. When I had additional questions I had to be 'checked in' again and wait in the waiting room.
One of the ladies that 'helped' needed some additional documents. She told me to get them and come back at 2PM. When I got back just before 2, expecting to see this person again she actually told the reception staff to just check me back in instead. So off to their waiting room again, only to be served by a completely different person!!! So what on earth was the point of telling me to come back at a certain time!
Terrible service

User

Terrible customer service. I've requested a customer reference number for Centrelink and the lady told me that 'don't have time to do that now'''.

User

Had the most amazing Centrelink experience of my life today! (Yes really . I am not exaggerating or under the influence of any man made sustances). A Call Centre employee named Betty took the time to listen, explain and resolve an issue that had been dragging out for weeks....AND....she rang me back TWICE to explain how things were progressing...JUST WOW :-)

User

had a payment on hold for over 5 months, i went in over 10 times trying to fix it, and they kept "forgeting" or they would not confirm the payment and make me come in again and again

Let me drink bleach

Centerlink Hornsby was caught red handed in a state sponsored harassment program aimed at myself, as I am viewed as a dissenter. The staff who were involved were quickly moved on after the scandal came to light. The staff involved used administrative harassment giving me false information, not completing applications and treating me with contempt.

User

As soon as i walked into this outlet i was immediately greeted at the door where i made my enquiry, i was directed to the waiting area to be seated until my name was called out.
15minutes later i was summoned by "Caroline" who was an absolute sweetheart to deal with, i was given the best customer service i have had in awhile. All my issues were addressed and despite the wait i walked out all fuzzy with a smile. Thanks again Caroline 😊

User

Terrible customer service. Low efficiency. The staff is not knowledgeable

User

Totally inconvenient if you have a disability, injured or do not drive a car. You need to cross busy intersections where it is difficult to hear the beep of the crossing.

User

The staff I dealt with were helpful. We did not wait long and were served by Bryce who was very courteous and pleasant to deal with.

User

Relocated from the shopping centre now means the older clients have to walk some distance and cross busy roads. Service is very confusing. There is a sign advising clients not to abuse staff. I know why that sign is there.

User

The staff is going to get rid of the customers who are bothering them. The staff should sit there and pretend to look up info on the screen. I received a call who asked me a password for my account for identifying my details. I asked for the purpose of the call. She refused to explain except I had given her my password. I rejected, then she said she could send me the letter instead. Is this the service? This task can make this lady being busy to work for a whole day. That is service !!!!

User

Was told if I can please not come in at the last hour to get these sort of things done.
Was heading in just to quickly proof my identify. I work 8-3 and went in at 3.30.
I feel humiliated by the stare

User

Helping keep the bogan baby-breeds tied up in beauacratic redtape :)

User

Would give lower if I could. Centrelink is a horrible place to get in contact with they are poorly run and need to change

User

Not good service. seating is a joke ..they just stand around talking ..waited 35 mins for income statement because computer's not working ..

User

The long waits for something so easy to fix are silly.

User

Sue is absolutely terrible to deal with. Avoid her like the plague. All the other staff are nice enough though.

User

Tippy top shelf customer service.. Love going in there in fact I look forward to my visit to centrelink brookvale..

User

Terrible under trained staff.

User

It always hard at a Centrelink centre to have a pleasant and efficient experience. At Brookvale my experience was that the staff were helpful and tried to resolve my needs by listening to my plight and offering different alternatives to help me through. Chatswood was closer but Brookvale is so much better.

User

Don't like going here. Long queue, at the end they tell you to go online or use their phone to call the cops call center (another 3 hour queue)

User

It's written that they close at 4:30pm but they won't take u if you come after 4pm

User

There's no Medicare section here. So don't come to this centre for that. (as of 7sept2017).

User

I was surprised how smoothly everything was there. It took me no more than 10min of waiting. The staff was helpful and solved both my questions. I'm satisfied with the service.

User

The woman on the front desk was hideously rude, dismissive, condescending, and patronising. Her customer service was appalling, she was void of compassion and her attitude was reprehensible.

User

Been multiple times previously with helpful staff, but again the older lady with glasses on the front desk mentioned in other reviews is rude and wouldn't let me finish explaining. Before stating they can't help and I have to call the helpline, regardless of previously being assisted face to face at this centre. Ridiculous as it has been already months of being kept on hold with the line she directed me to call..

User

A lady at the front desk has been seriously ill-mannered, wouldn't recommend to come to her.

User

The lady who sits on the front desk, older with glasses, is honestly the rudest person I've ever come across at centrelink. She should not be in a customer service role at all. She has, on multiple occasions, brought down mine and many other people's experience at centrelink in Redfern.

User

First receptionist ignored me. Next one was rude. Was then told they could only just squeeze me in even tho it was an hour before closing. Apparently there is an appt system but no mention on the website or from their helpline when I called before coming in. When asked for my CRN I apologised I left it on my desk. The response I got was a loud sigh, a shake of the head and a hand out for the passport I was holding. Then told to please take a seat. No ETA or anything. What a dive.

User

There's some parking on the side streets and the waits are long during peak hours. Staff members are friendly and will help with smaller tasks on the go.

User

the system is very well organised,
the receptionist in the front desk was very helpful and friendly. council parking at rear building is easy to find and lot of spot available.

User

I don't know if the ladies from the old Marrickville office at at this one...but they were always lovely and helpful...which is a surprise since most offices tend to have the scrapings of the bottom of the barrel in regards to customer service and care

User

The lady in front very rude. Last 2 weeks I visited 5 times & awarded one appointment after 10 days. Most annoying thing in desk who I talked he gave me wrong form to fill & result wait another 2 weeks. They don't care & don't listen anyone problem well.

User

Pretty quick service. Bit of parking in surrounding streets. A lot of requests can be done over the phone and Internet but for those less technical, the helpful staff there can assist.

User

Take a disgruntled Telstra employee, combine with bureaucracy, sprinkle in some perceived power and you have the makings of the worst customer service representative the world has seen.

Skills include:
- Repeating the problem you just stated back at you with a condescending tone
- Saying "you are not listening to me" when it is in fact them who was not listening
- Time travel, eg: "you should have updated this information six months ago"
- Refusing to give name
- Prints and staples forms at glacial pace
- Informs you that you should be doing this online even though you're sure there is no way any computer system could insult your intelligence like this personalised experience.

Highly recommended for those into self-flagellation and cutters.

User

This place is a joke. No one wants to help. Don't waste your time

User

Are they all fat because they sit around doing nothing? 2hr wait.....

User

Waited 47 mins on hold was put through to an over flow person who couldn't deal with my enquiry , said I would be put on top of the list for the area I needed . I waited 20 mins my phone died . Not happy and can't do anything about it now as they are shut

User

Counter girl has some attitude and it's a Monday. must be real fun at home.....

User

waited

Edit: If you go in after 3pm they refuse to let you speak to someone regarding Austudy despite the fact that there are people available to speak to you and that they are open for another hour and a half. Is this really company policy? Why isn't it mentioned on the website?
They will also refuse to check on the computer to see how your claim is progressing. Literally, flatly refuse and give you no reason for it. Three times I have been told to check online and refused help, twice I've been given the wrong number to contact by staff. What the heck is wrong with these staff members? I'm yet to speak to anyone here even remotely helpful here.

I went in to make sure my claim was ready to be submitted to Participation so I could hurry up and get things moving forward, without looking at my claim I was assured by the man at the counter that if it was in the app it was fine and I had to call Participation. After 56mins on hold I finally get through to Particiation only to be told that no, my claim file was not ready to be assessed and nobody had progressed my file at all despite having uploaded all the forms correctly. I was told to call back the following day. At least the woman on the phone was helpful and informative.

User

I had a great experience here - I went in on a Friday morning around 10ish, there wasn't a queue and I was seen straight away. I needed to sort a Centrelink number so I can start my maternity claim. A guy called David assisted me and he couldn't have been more helpful.
He talked me through everything I needed to do and even called me as promised on Monday morning to confirm a linking code that he couldn't generate at the time.
Couldn't speak more highly of my experience.

User

How else would you rate Centrelink

User

Worst place ever there lazy and rude and don't help or respect you when you walk in.....

User

Literal the worst people to deal with. Not only are they lazy and rude they act like it's not thier JOB !! to help you. If they were in customer service anywhere else they would be fired. Maybe that's the reason you hire these types of people.

User

Worst place ever

User

Nothing if I'm doin a course full I shouldn't have to report to get paid cause my course goes from 9 to 5 n Centrelink is shut when I finish

User

Better than some government offices, but so much wasted space.
