About Certified Pizza Bar

Certified Pizza Bar specialises in Pizza, Pasta, Salad and Desserts. Located in the heart of Penrith - we also cater for any occasion.

Certified Pizza Bar Description

Every pizza that leaves our ovens must be Certified by our Head Chef, to ensure that it meets our exacting standards, using only the best and freshest ingredients. We create our own secret sauces, and make everything by hand, daily!
The food we make must be full of goodness.
If it’s not delicious, and expertly made, it will not be Certified. We love food. That’s why we’ll never sell anything that we would not eat ourselves.
We have high standards, and so should you.

Our first order from Certified Pizza Bar in Penrith...

We ordered a delivery for a Meat Lover's Pizza and Tukara Fettucine and a garlic bread.
Delivery was to Emu Plains, 7 min drive to Penrith @ 5.45 on Sunday night 15/10/17.

Pizza base was soggy and not much different to average Dominos quality.
Meat toppings were very thinly cut and pizza lacked volume or texture.
Ham was very thinly sliced although real (not cotta ham/polony type), did not taste too fresh, salami was OK but also very thin.
"Cabanossi" used was the processed type with red, plastic skin.
Real Cabanossi ( genuine Polish "Kabanos") is a thin smoked Polish sausage (often dried) which is normally made with a natural casing (skin). Unfortunately what was used was the cheap imitation available from Coles or Woolies.
A better choice for an italian style flavour would be Cacciatore or BBQ italian sausage.
The minced beef was difficult to taste and very minimal.
Once cooled, the toppings slid off the pizza slices due to excess moisture.

The pasta dish had very little sauce and included raw diced tomatoes ( possibly taken from pizza topping ingredients), garnished with parsley and small amount of parmesan ?? (although with no Parmesan taste ) which seemed like a line of stuck together mozzarella.
The description on the website menu mentioned basil, salami and prosciutto and although a small quantity was visible, these could not be tasted in the overall dish that was delivered.
There was a lack of overall flavour and contrast between the ingredients.

Pasta dish was improved after reheating which removed some excess moisture.

Garlic bread was small, lacked true garlic and butter taste.

I like to support independent pizza shops, especially local to the area where I live.
Independent stores have a chance to differentiate themselves from the chains which is a great thing and worth paying extra money for.

Unfortunately the experience with my first order would not make me go back or recommend to friends unless I knew that improvements have been made.

I based my decision to try Certified Pizza from online reviews and on the website claiming "Our Promise" on the home page... sorry not convinced.

I was mostly disappointed because I thought I had finally found a pizza shop that could deliver on its promise...
