NOTE: ANYONE WHO HAS ANXIETY OR DEPRESSION, or other similar neurological ‘differences’, should ESPECIALLY AVOID THIS *SPECIFIC* CHEMIST WAREHOUSE LOCATION in QUEANBEYAN, and, if impossible to avoid, definitely do NOT attend ALONE, as there is a PHARMACIST working here whose behaviour is *especially* hostile towards customers who need assistance or to be treated with a shred of human decency, and whose behaviour caused a rapid-onset anxiety->panic attack and a concurrent severe depressive episode.

Now that I’ve set off all the ‘lunatic reviewer!’ alarms... ;)

The Pharmacist who I (very unsuccessfully) had to deal with at Chemist Warehouse Queanbeyan this week was hostile, dismissive, rude, defensive, negligent, and uncooperative. I strongly recommend going just about anywhere else within an hour’s drive - worth the petrol!

Lots of whiny details below for anyone interested. :)

As someone who is on an unexpectedly-extended business trip, I was collecting a ~pre-arranged~ internal transfer of **several fairly strong and Government Regulated psychiatric medications** from another Chemist Warehouse interstate (where I have been a very, very happy and respected customer for over a decade), it should have been apparent that I needed whatever this Pharmacist could summon which might be similar in some way to ‘kindness’ or ‘helpfulness’. Instead, she created a clinically-traumatic interpretation of hostility and an aversion to any kind of dialogue, requiring my mother to intervene, embarrassingly for a 38-year-old adult! while my anxiety levels skyrocketed, just to get this Pharmacist to answer some professional questions, during which time she told me she was ‘already doing me a big favour’ by carrying out a common professional task, refused to check my in-house medication charts to better recommend non-prescription medicines, recommended non-prescription medicines which were highly contra-indicated by my prescription regimen, and walk off mid-‘conversation’ with my poor old mum, to whom her final words were, ‘it’s my opinion, take it or leave it,’ with a sizeable pile of (as previously mentioned) some very strong (and most also highly Government Regulated) drugs sitting in a basket on the benchtop, unattended, not having formally dispensed them to anyone, nor having asked important and legally-required (to my knowledge) questions such as whether I had taken these before, was I aware of the side effects of each drug, asking if I was taking anything which might be contra-indicated either a little bit or in a seriously life-threatening way, etc.

My mother and I eventually just gave up and left, paying a mere $471.09 for this ‘big favour’, and, on the way home, I spiralled into what became a full-blown panic attack and depressive relapse. Yes, I am in the process of making formal complaints to the overarching company at Chemist Warehouse Australia, and to the relevant consumer and medical Ombudspersons.

Do not rely on the pharmacist to advise you if its your last repeat for important prescription medication if you leave your files there.

Rang up today to pick up a script to be rudely told by the pharmacist I had used my last repeat, go to a doctor and come back with a new script.

Told pharmacist I wasn't informed it was the last repeat during the last visit otherwise I would have booked in with my GP that day. Told it was written on a label on the packet and it's up to me to check, not up to them to tell me. Wasn't aware of this to now.

Try finding a doctors appointment on a Friday afternoon to get a script for medication that causes major issues if you suddenly cease taking it!

Rude, unprofessional and unhelpful.

I agree with the other review the staff and most of the chemists just don't want to be there. I have stopped going to that store, I cant stand being treated as a pain.

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever encountered from a so called "health CARE professional". It is actually laughable that these people are privy to senisitive information and are in a position of power and use this position to be little and look down upon customers with genuine health issues. The old Asian woman who is the pharmacist at the Queanbeyan store has zero customer service skills or compassion. She feeds on power trips and it's truely disgusting. After today's embarrassing situation, I will proceed to continue to report her until something is done

Appalling service all 4 times I have been there, I now drive 15mins out if my way to another Chemist Warehouse who do actually have customer service

Worst ever customer service. I dont know why do they hire so rude staff. I wanted to write a review since so so long when I visited this queanbeyan branch around a few months ago and there was this rude lady who didnt even have the manners to greet a customer or "atleast" have a polite look on her face if the other person is smiling at her. Atleast i had the manners to say "thanks" when she gave me the invoice and she didnt even reply to that as well. I wanted to punch her in the face for her rude behaviour. Looked like shes a frustrated depressed women.

Since that day I decided that Im never ever going back to that branch but after a few months, last week I had
to as I wasnt able to find a supplement and thought of checking here at chemist warehouse too. I went in the vitamins aile and literally spent a few seconds to look up if they stock it or not, (it wasnt there) so I decided to go back and then there was this idiot ugly pervert security guard at the door and rudely asked me "can I check your purse"

For a sec I was shocked and then I asked him again, "WHAT SORRY?" He said, " your bag".

Literally?? I hardly spent a minute there and didnt even buy anything. Atleast If they wanted to check my bag, they should have some solid f****** reasons for that, or if I looked suspicious or something. From that day Ive decided im neverrrrrr going back there ever again. I wish I could give negative rating to this.

Ive never had an issue, they keep my script on file and its cheaper than the other pharmacies. Plus I get to get my lady Bunnings on at spotlight next door while I wait.

User

Well another Chemist warehouse store and another exteremely rude staff. No manners to greet customers. I dont know whether they specially choose the rudest ppl to work for them. Went to their Queanbeyan store. An robotic woman looked at me with no manner to greet but well I had mine and I greeted her and went out of the store. Well will stick to my discount chemist and they are matching your prices. So you will have one less custoner from now on.

User

Never had issues, staff helpful prices good. Yes queanbeyan is small so is the village

User

Just appalling service! I thought i'd give them a go regardless of the negative reviews but they certainly lived up to all the bad press. They had me wait for 20 minutes & when I enquired about my script they announced loudly in front of everyone what it was - unprofessional and embarrassing!
They then told me they can't fill the script because my doctor only wrote how many milligrams in numbers rather than also written out in full. Ridiculous! I went to another pharmacy and they thought that was as absurd as i did.

User

Never get a script faxed to this chemist there are always problems.

User

I hated it too. The pharmacist was condescending and nasty and wouldn't sell me an over the counter pain relief medication because I did not have my license with me. I am aware of new laws around over the counter pain medication but this pharmacist would make no exceptions on one occasion, no flexibility whatsoever and when I asked him to make an exception he became almost hostile and spoke to me with enormous suspicion as though he suspected me of being a junkie. I will not go there again. A very upsetting experience.
