Perfect food perfect wait staff 10/10 would go again

Dreadful customer service. Late delivery and cold food. Not sure if the food would pass food safe handling standards. Not the first occasion has happened several times. Management doesnt care.

It serves genuine Chinese cuisine as well as fusion cuisine to suit Australian customers. The portion is generous and pricing reasonable. Service is excellent. The restaurant has a number of large tables to cater for family gathering. This place is popular for birthday celebrations. A local hero.

This restaurant has changed hands from time to time but it is always known as Choyan and not much has changed in decor for a number of years. If ABC ever look for a location for period drama then this place will be straight from central casting. Having said that, it is a comfortable space and usually quiet and familiar.
The wait staff are also old-gen rather than next gen but they fit in like a glove and are warm and friendly and super efficient from years of practise.
Food has, thankful, moved on from the black beans with any meat and sweet and sour sauce era and is typical of most better Chinese restaurants. It is nice to see that they are not afraid to use spices (and chilli heat) where appropriate. The food arrives quickly and piping hot. Ingredients were fresh and servings are generous. However, it a quieter night so things can become unpredictable on a busy night.
Outside of the well known Asian food centres on the north side (e.g. Chatswood, Eastwood, etc) this is a solid and dependable local institution.

Decent Chinese food in gordon. Nothing spectacular and nothing too concerning. Decor was nice and staff were friendly.
