ASKING FOR YOUR HELP! As some of you are aware, a house fire in Greenethorpe a few weeks ago has devastated a local couple, who lost all their possessions. The village is holding a fundraising Trivial Pursuit night on Saturday 11 August at the Soldiers' Memorial Hall. We are looking for local businesses to donate prizes including lucky door, raffle, between-rounds challenges etc. to ensure that we make the most of the night and raise as much money as possible. CIRCA 1935 ha...s donated pizza vouchers to all contestants on the second placed table. If you are able to donate goods, gift vouchers or services that can be used as prizes on the night please PM me or reply in the comments below. Or get a table together, come along and support us on the night. Or both! Make up a table of 8 or join another group for an evening of fun. A lovely sunny day today brought huge crowds out to see Iandra Castle and thanks to all those who dropped in for a cuppa or a snack. Caught up with some old friends and made some new ones. Once again a huge thank you to Judith Pugh and Jo Kinsela for helping out, including the lovely flowers on the table and the main counter. Next open day will be the Sunday of the October long weekend I think, but will keep you all posted. CIRCA is open EVERY Sunday for coffee, cakes and yummy lunches. Weather forecast for Sunday is fine. This is the last day that Iandra Castle will open until October. Plenty to see and do at the castle and don't forget to pop into CIRCA 1935 on your way there, or home, for hot soup, home made sausage rolls, toasted sandwiches and hot dogs, a range of muffins and sweet treats, and award winning Art of Espresso Coffee. Open from 9am to 4pm.
