Brief Bio-Jill Watkins developed “Circartus” on moving to the area in 2009. Jill was the Director, trainer and manager of Gunnedah Circus School before moving to the Manning Area. Teaching circus skills, developing and directing major circus productions for festivals, mentoring young circus trainers, running specialist “social circus” projects for communities and organisations.
Circartus is based on the premise that communities thrive on the opportunity to express through the arts including the performing arts which helps to build a sense of community and belonging.
During Jills time in Gunnedah she managed and was the artistic director of the The Two Rivers Festival which included facilitating community art and community development projects in partnership with local government, the aboriginal community and the arts community.
