Circus Habesha Description

Ethiopia is far from traditional circus territory and yet the country boasts one of the world’s most original circus scenes. Today, incorporating local culture into the mix, young artists are embracing, reinventing and enriching this circus heritage. More than just an art form, the circus has become a way of life here in Ethiopia.
Five peace Australian based young and talented performers Circus Habesha was established in 2015 by the young, energetic and versatile performers with the skill Icarian game, balls bouncing, hula hoop, diabolo, and clubs juggling.
All performers professionally trained dynamic individuals who have performed for the last 10 years in different countries around the world.
Circus Habesha taps into Ethiopia's rich cultural and creative heritage, delving into the rhythms and roots of its many diverse aesthetic traditions - art, music, dance, and design - to loose a vision of an emergent Ethiopian circus into the ring.
Circus Habesha Featuring the extraordinary acrobatics Nahom Nigussie and Leul Mekonen, the 2015 France new generation Monte Carlo International Circus Festival and Nikulen international circus festival winners all with a dash of hilarity, and all accompanied by traditional and contemporary Ethiopian music and dance.
It is believed this group will establish a new Ethiopian tradition of circus and uses storytelling, comedy, acrobats and stunts set against a backdrop of the country’s national heritage.
