Absolutely horrendous in regards to city rail last night. 8.37pm train from Wollongong to Central. Took 45 minutes to get to get Thirroul which takes 15 minutes, which then we were told to move from the train on platform one to platform 3 which would then be the Express train. Then it took us an hour to get from Thirroul to Scarborough where we then sat again. At this point it’s 11pm. We finally get to Waterfall at 1am where we are then told the train will now terminate. At 1am, stranded at Waterfall, waiting for a coach to take us to Central. We had to catch a connecting train to Homebush which by at this time trains no longer were running until 4am so we had no other choice but to order an Uber from Waterfall to Homebush and pay $113.
Absolutely horrendous and I feel so sorry for the train driver as he stated he had been unadvised by head office and city rail staff and they gave him no information and he had to deal with a lot of unsettled travellers.
