Clearing The Closet

Whenever I come to Glenbrook I always pop in to Clearing The Closet to see what they have in stock & honestly always come away happy with some great bargains. In particular I love rummaging through the bargain clothing baskets on the front verandah. Currently they are 3 items for $20 and I often find some absolute gems in there. The stock is varied & interesting..I especially like the vintage/retro homewares. The kitchenalia range is awesome. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful, in particular Lou. Her fun, quirky presence and experience in this niche of retail make this shop special and unique. Definitely worth a look if you're in the vicinity.

Older lady, short brown hair = the most horrible customer service I have ever come across. My mum & 2 little children thought we would have a quick look through as i'm looking for a new jacket. While we where trying on some of the clothes this lady raced in & started hanging up all the clothes we where intending to buy, obviously annoyed that there where children in her store that weren't standing there in utter silence. She then told my children off (1 & 3) in front of us for playing with the curtain of thr change cubicle. Ok fair enough you didnt want them to wreck it but maybe be nice?? Ridiculous. My little girl was carrying a bag that i was going to purchase for her but this lady rudely said "can i have that back", & practically snatched it off her then she put it away. We left without buying the 5 or 6 items we where planning on getting mainly because she was super rude but also because she'd hung it all up! I went back in on my own about 10 minutes later because i did really want 1 of the coats.. it was then that i overheard her bad mouthing us & my children to a random customer! I quote "you should have seen these 2 horrible women & their terrible children. It was disgusting. Absolutely no discipline". I came back out & decided 10 mins after that that i would go confront this poor excuse for a shop owner or manager when AGAIN she was talking about us to someone. Will not be going back here & neither will my mother & her friends who are regular customers. I hope you lose business from this review & maybe then you'll learn to lower your voice when talking about potential PAYING CUSTOMERS seeing as we're the ones who keep your business running. Have a coffee & chill the hell out.

Very dissapointed in the staff here. Grumpy elderly man who was very negative to my children and husband while I was brousing on the porch at their merchandise. They were sitting on the rock wall out the front holding onto the railing like every child does - he was told "it was not a park and not to let our kids run loose." I actually thought they were being super patient and wwll behaved! Hence I obviously told him i wouldn't continue shopping - then told to "get lost and don't come back".
