Excited to announce we have been named as a finalist in the NSW Mining Health, Safety, Environment & Community Awards for our CS Health project with Centennial Coal - in the Health Excellence category.

The Hon. Don Harwin MLC dropped in to the Newcastle Mines Rescue Station at Argenton today. The Minister for Resources, the Minister for Energy and Utilities, the Minister for the Arts toured the station’s underground gallery and virtual reality facility, where some of the expert industry training provided by Mines Rescue across the state takes place.

Six teams from across the Newcastle region competed at the annual Newcastle Mines Rescue competition on Friday, 15 June. The event included underground and surface exercises designed to test the skills of our volunteer brigadesmen.

Coal Services is a proud supporter of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. One of the many events held to raise essential funds for the Service is the annual Wests Cycle Classic. Newcastle Mines Rescue Training Coordinators Jared Bentley and Lachlan Grant represented Coal Services at this year's event in March, completing the weekend component of the ride. A presentation night to thank supporters was held in May, where Lachlan accepted a plaque from the Service's CEO Richard Jones.
