About Coeherence Theory

Communication. We all do it, but do we know what it is, and what it requires? The coherence theory (simplified) conveys that any true statement must cohere to reality - in other words, a square circle can not exist because the essence of the two objects are not the same (both are shapes, but neither is - nor can be - the other). The Coeherence Theory is this: communication requires understanding, clarity, honest: communication requires trust, and communication builds trust. Coeherence Theory seeks to be honest and respectful in all statements. Honest statements are born out of respect for the facts and the audience. And (in most Westernised cultures) people tend to respect honesty, at least mores than dishonesty (which could be labeled as fallacy or lies, but those 'negative' words are anathema to far too many). So what is Coeherence Theory all about? It's a journey of one Communicator raised in Seattle, educated in Canada and the UK, experienced in Europe and now living in Australia. It is a passion project and a search for clarity and unity, not clerical conformity. Jonathan Coe's background is in Cross Cultural Communications. He has spent 8 years working cross culturally in the UK, USA and Germany, with teams from all over Eastern and Western Europe, parts of the Middle East and Africa, now working at a Creative Agency in Australia. He is passionate about communication as essential for relationship, both personal and professional. He is privileged to have a wife (British, Australian) raised overseas and far more knowledgable than himself, who clearly communicates and is an amazing example of respect. Coeherence Theory is his passion project.
