About Cola Studio

An acronym for Country Oriented Landscape Architecture, COLA Studio is a majority Indigenous owned company run as a small family practice by Budawang (Yuin) woman, Kaylie Salvatori, in partnership with her non Indigenous partner and ally, Patrick Campbell. COLA Studio aims to centre Country in all of its designs, specialising in community offerings and working on a pay the rent module for private work. Our approach to public spaces, community offerings and infrastructure involves collaboration with Traditional Custodians and knowledge holders in order to facilitate aspirations of the community and amplify the voice of Country across designs. Where collaboration is impractical, we aim to support the habitat, plants and ecological systems that keep nature healthy, whilst engendering an ethos of care of these systems in the people that will use and maintain the spaces. COLA Studio offers full scope landscape architectural services from concept through design development, construction detailing and contract delivery. We also offer Indigenous design strategy, collaboration and design advice, as well as public art, urban design and masterplanning. We specialise in cultural placemaking, community and public works as well as residential and commercial design. Our favourite projects feature First Nations collaboration, incorporating bush foods and medicines, cultural practice and knowledge, creating designs that work as both educational and recreational spaces that support the health and wellbeing of the community and environment. All of our projects are imbued with a regenerative ethos, focusing on creating spaces that generate abundance for future generations, plants and animals. Driven by Country, COLA Studio acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of where we work and live. We pay our respects to Elders and knowledge holders, past, present and emerging, whose wisdom ensures the perpetuation of Indigenous culture now and forever.
