Welcome to Cook Eat Thrive!

Despite earning a Diploma in Nutrition, after a lifetime of conflicting and confusing nutritional information, I began to research the paleo lifestyle and finally I was onto something. One year later and I have never felt better, healthier or had more energy. Gone are the days of unsustainable and unhealthy "diets" - this is easy and it's for life! And hand on heart, I have never eaten tastier or had this much variety of food in my life. It's like eating at a restaurant every day!

Having been involved in several paleo and LCHF (low carb high fat) Facebook pages for some time now, I quickly began to recognise that there is a gap in this area of the market, so Cook Eat Thrive was born! I am here to offer a number of services. Just let me know your requirements - ie. paleo, GAPS, coeliac etc - and I will make sure the service matches your needs.

Cooking Lessons: for those interested in the paleo style approach and to learn recipes to improve their gut health but either are not confident cooks, or are finding it a little overwhelming to cook in a different way from scratch, this is the service for you! From mayonnaise to broth to fermented vegies and everything in between, I can show you how easy these are in the comfort of your own home!

Home cooking: Are you too busy to cook? Do you work long hours during the week and then either want to relax on weekends, or are even busier taking the kids to their sport events to even think about what you're going to cook the following week? Let me help you with that! Whether its all your meals for the week, kids' lunches, just a couple of dinners or some broth, I will cook at your home, pack it all up and it's ready to go. All you need to do is defrost or reheat!

Hospital deliveries: Are you dreading your hospital visit, knowing you'll be subject to unhealthy meals full of sugar and gluten which will play havoc with your body? Have you decided to spend your recovery on a broth fast? Just let me know your requirements and I'll be right there!

Personal Shopping: Short on time? Do you need to go to the butcher? The grocer? The fish market? The supermarket? Or all of them? Don't waste your weekend! Just give me your shopping list and either tell me where you like to go, or I am happy to source your ingredients for you and deliver them to your door!

Shopping Tips: Do you like doing your own shopping but have no idea where to source your ingredients? Do you know where the farmers markets are? Do you need help learning about ingredients and where to get them? From organic vegies and grocery items, to grass fed and free range meat, let me take you shopping and you can learn hands on! An optional service may be to "paleofy" your kitchen, with help to get rid of the nasty ingredients and replace with nourishing alternatives as well as advice on some essential kitchen equipment to get you started!

Fresh meal delivery: Planning on a lazy Saturday night and want to avoid the unhealthy takeaways? Let me sort that out! Whether its a curry, some soup, "pasta" with paleo garlic bread or some chicken wings, I have got the perfect "takeaway" meal for you!

Hi guys!!
As a Gold Coast chick, I'm not a big fan of winter, but what I am a big fan of is pulling out all those slow cooker recipe books full of beautiful chunky soups and casseroles which were shoved to the back for the last few months! My absolute all time favourite has to be this amazing and hearty chicken and vegetable soup, full of nourishing vegies and homemade chicken broth! So good I even made it a few times over summer!
For those short on time, I'm able to provide ...this and many other delicious soups and casseroles to warm you and the family up on those chilly nights. Perfect to take to work too! Here are just a few of many dishes to choose from:

Morning!!
Who says you have to miss out on easter goodies!! With so much temptation on the supermarket shelves at the moment, it's a tough time of year for many, especially the parents, when it's so strongly marketed toward winning the kids over.
Well I have good news! There are literally thousands of recipes out there which are paleo, keto and LCHF compliant and look, smell and taste like the real deal.
... Check out these AMAZING hot cross buns I baked yesterday! Full of aromatic spices and fresh blueberries (and amazing hot with a big smear of butter!) they are an amazing alternative to the sugary ones we're seeing everywhere and will even keep the whole family happy, even if they follow a non compliant WOE.

Hi guys!!
Some of my new recipe experiments from this week! All of these can be provided cooked or raw and are great to freeze and reheat on the lazy nights!
Pork & prawn dumplings - steamed yum cha style or pan fried/baked - YUM!!
... Hot & spicy chicken nuggets - can make with no chilli for the kids. Great to keep in the fridge for a snack or to throw into a school lunch box!
Cauliflower fritters! Delicious hot or as a cold snack and a fantastic toast substitute, topped with bacon, eggs and avo so you can continue to enjoy that Sunday full brekkie fry up!!
And some crispy pork crackling - that's for me to snack on while I'm cooking up a storm! 😂

Hi guys!
So who's planning on going to the Good Food & Wine Show in Sydney from 23-25 June?? I haven't missed a year since I moved here!
I have had feedback from some who went a few years ago and weren't impressed with the variety of compliant foods being showcased, but I can tell you that they have lifted their game the last couple of years. Last year they even had a fermenting class! Word is spreading!
... This year there's a new 'Good Food Village' which will be full of small artisan producers who take pride in the quality and origin of their produce. No info just yet on who the exhibitors will be.
For the Primal, Keto and LCHFers - 'Cheese Alley' continues to grow and impress me every year. Word of advice - eat a light brekkie that morning or you will regret it! So many cheeses and so little room in your tummy!
For those who like to avoid big crowds, I suggest you go on the Friday as it's much less busy and you will be able to get to many more stands to try samples.
Guest chefs this year will be Colin Fassnidge (MKR), Gary Mehigan (Masterchef) and Luke Nguyen (Red Lantern, Sydney), among others.
See below for tickets! The show runs for 3 days in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth - check the site for dates. Note that the ICC in Darling Harbour (Sydney) is now complete, so it's moving back there from Olympic Park this year.
Hopefully see you there - maybe I'll even have my own exhibitor stand one of these days!

Due to popular demand and limited services in the area currently, I am a brand new Sydney small business focussed primarily on cooking services and lessons for those on LCHF, Paleo, Keto, GAPS etc and anyone dealing with an autoimmune issue, food allergy or intolerance, including gluten, dairy and sugar. Morning everyone!
I'm official!! Had my first gig yesterday - the lovely Debra and David who signed up for my 2 hour fermentation workshop. What a couple of pros! We powered through FOUR different ferments:
Sauerkraut... Spiced Cauliflower Kimchi Gherkins
It was great fun and they mixed up ingredients and proportions in their individual creations for a true his and hers experience! Think they'll be all set for a little while with this stash! Thanks guys, I hope you enjoyed the experience!

Did you know I will be doing healthy paleo deliveries to HOSPITALS? Happy to also accommodate other care facilities and homes.
We've all seen the horrendous pics of hospital trays piled with bread, cereal, yogurt and juice which are apparently dietician recommended!
... If you or a loved one are dreading an upcoming hospital visit, knowing you'll be subject to a sugar and gluten buffet at every meal which will play havoc with your body, I can help! Whether is a few days worth of broth, delicious granola with almond milk, chia puddings, or some lunches and dinners you can have the nursing staff refrigerate for you, we can discuss an arrangement which will work for your recovery. I can even deliver meals hot or cold for those only requiring a solution for an overnight stay!
Obviously this service is subject to the rules of the facility on bringing outside meals in so please check with the care staff on what they are willing to accommodate.
