About Coolangatta-Tweed Osteopathy

Coolangatta Tweed Osteopathy is a leading Osteopathic clinic in the southern Gold Coast region treating all musculoskeletal problems

Coolangatta-Tweed Osteopathy Description

Nate completed his Bachelor of Clinical Science and Masters of Osteopathic Medicine at SCU in northern NSW. Prior to, and while completing his studies, Nate worked as a fitness coach in his private studio on the Coolangatta-Tweed Heads border.
Nate first became aware of the many benefits of osteopathy as a result of a chronic back injury that he sustained in 1999. After undergoing treatments of various modalities, Nate finally found reprieve from his pain after visiting an osteopath. It was through this positive and life changing osteopathic experience that Nate decided to study osteopathy and help others dealing with pain.
Nate has a patient-centred approach to his osteopathic treatments that involve the use of a variety of hands on techniques such as soft-tissue massage, deep stretching, and joint mobilization. Furthermore, Nate also likes to focus on correcting the biomechanics of his patients through exercise.
Outside of the clinic Nate enjoys spending time with his wife Anna, and their two boys Thomas and Edward.

The Glute bridge is a great test for hip flexibility.
If you spend all day behind a desk chances are you will be restricted to perform the movement.
This is a surefire shortcut to lower back problems.
... Normal hip mobility is parallel or beyond see how you perform πŸ‘

DRIN MORE WATER @coolyosteo πŸ’§πŸ» Especially if you’re nursing a hangover! Water is required to cushion and lubricate your joints, protect your brain and other internal tissues, regulate your body temperature, and remove waste from your body through urination, bowel movements, and perspiration. When you don’t have enough water, dehydration can cause dry mouth, low blood pressure, headaches, dizziness, dry skin, and fatigue. www.coolyosteo.com.au

A healthy back is a mobile one with a wide range of motion. We recommend the 30/30 Rule, β€œfor every 30 minutes of being sedentary, get up and move for 30 seconds”. Sitting and holding the same position for long periods of time reduces blood flow and causes muscle tension and stiffness. β€œSet a reminder on your phone for every 30 minutes, or give your body a wiggle after a half-hour television program.” www.coolyosteo.com.au

Muscular Strains πŸ’ͺ @coolyosteo Give yourself a sporting chance with osteopathy. Whether you are an elite athlete or you run around the park once in a while for general fitness, your osteopath may help prevent and treat many sporting injuries. Commonly treated injuries include: Neck and back strains... Shoulder, elbow and wrist injuries Hip and pelvic injuries Knee, leg and ankle injuries. Reduced joint or muscle flexibility will affect your performance. It may result in injury. If you do become injured, your osteopath is highly trained to facilitate a return to optimal function and prevent compensatory strains from occuring. This aims to minimise re-injury and allow a quicker return to physical activity. Osteopathic treatment involves manual techniques, including soft tissue stretching, mobilisation, inhibition and manipulation. These techniques assist in improving elasticity, strength, endurance, mobility and performance. Visit http://coolyosteo.com.au/muscular-strains / for more info on Muscular Strains

Sciatic nerve: The longest & widest single nerve in our body.. The nerve that originates from our lower back to buttocks down to the back of our thigh and then into the leg! . Do you know our nerve (any nerves!) is a very SENSITIVE structure in our body? Once anything surrounding TOUCHES the nerve, or "squeeze on it", you get pain! . So what's SCIATICA then? It's a generic term for pain that RADIATES down the leg. Generic because sciatica can have many causes (i.e. piriformis... syndrome which I posted previously is one of them)! So yeah, if anything along the path of sciatic nerve gets irritated / compressed, you'll get pain spreading along the path of the nerve! . Symptoms: Pain, numbness and a tingling sensation that radiates from your lower back down to one of your legs to your foot & toes (sometimes can be made worse when you sneeze or cough or seated for too long!). I once had a patient who came in w mild back pain, accompanied w one sided heel pain. After assessing her, it's not plantar fasciitis! Later, only to find out that the source of her heel pain is actually coming from the BACK! Look how much the nerve along the path got irritated, and spread the pain down to the foot!! Physios' aim is normally to send back those pain to the lower back again, making it localised rather than spreading down far to the buttocks or legs area! . Sciatica is very common! www.coolyosteo.com.au
