About Coorparoo & Holland Park
Celebrating the picturesque city views and architectural flavour (both parochial and grand) of Coorparoo and Holland Park, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Coorparoo & Holland Park Description
I think this is a truly beautiful part of Brisbane that I don't think gets enough attention and is vastly underrated. 7 minutes drive from the city, it can't be considered "suburban", but its not quite "inner city" either. Very leafy with beautiful residential architecture.
I love the way residents' restorations and renovations are so often in keeping with the original style - residents seem to take more trouble to preserve the history in design of extensions, choices of paint colours, gardens.
It is still a patchwork of charming but humble residences, and the affluent and sprawling. The two live comfortably together in an area that decidedly beautiful, but unpretentious.
There are a lot of high density units going up around the Coorparoo junction, coinciding with the demolition of the Myer Centre.
Things are about to change. . .
