Cormack O’Connor is a young man with big ideas, who’s always thought he was a little bit older then the number of candles on his birthday cake.
At just fifteen years of age, fresh faced and full of excitement, he photographed his first music festival; throwing himself straight in front of musical giants like Empire of the Sun, Naughty by Nature and Flight Facilities. It was the initial spark of a larger dream that would see Cormack become Australian Editor of international popular culture website Lost At E Minor.
Beginning his career in writing for local Newcastle website Urban Insider, Cormack slowly gravitated towards music journalism - having always held a strong love for anything related to the art form. This soon lead him to turn his focus to street-press magazine Reverb where he began interviewing and reviewing bands and their latest releases.
Having skills in both writing and photography has led Cormack to work for companies as large as Stockland; all the while being published everywhere from ACCLAIM Magazine to World’s Only Zine.
In his current role, Cormack is involved in everything from content creation, editing and photographic work, to connecting with audience via social media. He spends his days in school and his nights scouring the country for the coolest parts of popular culture, attending art shows and hanging out backstage and in the photo pits of some of the country’s best music festivals and shows.
For Cormack it’s not all about being good at particular task - it’s about being a problem solver and big thinker who uses innovative techniques to solve whatever challenges he may come across. And there may just be a lot more to come yet.
