About Corpus Christi Catholic High School, Oak Flats

Corpus Christi Catholic High School is a Catholic systemic co-educational secondary school catering for Yrs 7-12 students in the southern Illawarra, NSW.

Corpus Christi Catholic High School, Oak Flats Description

The overarching purpose for learning and teaching at Corpus Christi Catholic High School is to develop in all learners a Eucharistic imagination with which to transform their world.

Established in the Year of the Eucharist, under the guidance of Bishop Peter Ingham, our school community has drawn it's motto, Abide in Christ, from John, Chapter 15, Jesus the True Vine.

Our motto calls each member of the school community to remain close to Christ, to dwell in the Lord, to grow more fully into the likeness of Christ.

Our crest gives expression to the beautiful imagery of life in abundance as members of the body of Christ. The symbolism in the lower section of the crest calls the school community to action as Eucharistic people reflecting the light of Christ.

Last Friday students dressed like farmers to raise awareness for our drought affected farmers. Everyone had a great day with morning tea and a BBQ lunch.
With an immense amount of support we raised $6,000 to assist with the drought relief! Great work to everyone who helped and donated to such a worthy cause. šŸ™‚

Last week in Year 9 history, the students were able to engage with genuine historical artefacts from WWI, on loan from the Australian War Memorial. This process enabled the students to more readily visualise the war and the lives of the soldiers. They viewed artefacts ranging from postcards sent from the front line to uniforms, medals and equipment.
