Croatian Studies Foundation - Zaklada Hrvatskih Studija

The Croatian Studies Foundation (CSF) was established in 1984 to support and promote the Croatian culture and intercultural exchange in Australia. Its work led to the establishment of the Croatian Studies Centre (CSC) in association with Macquarie University's School of Slavonic Studies in 1994. Over the past 20 years, CSC has offered learning programs in the Croatian language, culture and history and has built a comprehensive library of anthropological, linguistic and literary works to help members and students develop the knowledge and understanding of the Croatian history, language and culture. With the support of CSF, the Centre is also engaged in broad-reaching academic research and publishing activities. The Centre publishes an annual selection of research and academic works from Australian and international contributors in the Croatian Studies Review. The Review is published in English to enable broader access to the contemporary trends in Croatian anthropological and linguistic thought. The Foundation is funded from membership fees and fundraising. It organises cultural, scholarly and fundraising events to promote the Croatian language, arts and culture and assist in the Centre's work. Over the past five years, the average number of enrolments at the Croatian Studies Centre has exceeded 100 students per year, demonstrating a growing level of interest in the Croatian language and culture.
