Crone Architects is a proud sponsor of the UTS 'Mirrored Documents' exhibition that opens to the public this Wednesday. The exhibition presents a collection of architectural documents recently produced by UTS School of Architecture Masters students and their tutors. The documents, being both student and professional work present the mirrored relationship between master and student. At times this mirror is clear, other times warped and sometimes completely distorted. The tender is now open for our civic project Rocky Hill Memorial Museum! Bob Kirk, Mayor of Goulburn Mulwaree, is particularly enthusiastic about the modern design elements, “The concept plans do a fantastic job in fitting in with the unique landscape of Rocky Hill, whilst also blending in modern elements and finishes. Around 25,000 people visit our Rocky Hill War Memorial Museum each year and the concept for expansion would allow us to accommodate further touring groups, as well as attract touring exhibitions – in turn further lifting visitation numbers and the economic benefits for the region.” We hope it's another Sulman Medal win in the making! #CroneArchitects #RockyHillMemorialMuseum #Goulburn #Civic

333 George Street, Sydney is the recipient of both the Lord Mayor’s Commendation and a Commendation for Commercial Architecture in the 2018 NSW Architecture Awards. Crone, in the role of Executive Architect, worked closely with Grimshaw to deliver this impressive commercial tower. Well done to all involved!
The AIA Jury surmised, “333 George Street adopts a curvilear form that defines a significant urban corner on George Street overlooking Martin Place. A carefully crafted glass veil and cantilevered slab edge create a dialogue between the internal life of the building and observers at street level. Crone's interiors team worked in tandem with our architectural designers to complete the impressive new Melbourne headquarters for ANMF that was officially opened in May by Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews. Throw-back-to our submission for the design excellence comp for a resi tower at 44 O'Dea Avenue, Waterloo for Crown Group. Alas our design came a close runner up however our team was very happy with the work and the jury panel's comment of the design having a very European feel.
