Cronulla Beach Backpackers

Very cheap, but very nice. Well-soundproofed rooms and clean bathroom facilities were appreciated! A view of the distant water and a room with good friends made for a good stay.

German girl hired was abusive and others stole some of my items of clothing and tried to steal my laptop. Made a complaint but was told cliques rule the roost. Pathetic. I don't want to give a star. Would rather give a middle finger.

This hostel is absolutely disgusting. The thick stench throughout was inescapable. How people were staying more than one night in surrounded by so much grime and squalor is beyond me. I understand that some mess is par for the course with hostel accommodation but this was by far the filthiest place i have ever stayed.

Dirty and unkempt. This hostel was in a fantastic location, but that was all that was going for it. The rooms have a LOT of long-stays (people living there for 3+months) which meant despite booking 5 girls into a 6 share female room, we got separated into mix-gender dorms, as the long stays had priority. When asked if there was anything that could be done to ensure we stayed together, we were told we either took the beds they had, or we could leave as, despite our booking and paying for a female dorm, beds were not guaranteed. Also the long stay tenants left a lot of mess spread out across ALL the rooms; including leaving day old food in the rooms and week old dirty coffee cups in the bathrooms. The bathrooms possibly hadn't been cleaned in weeks and the kitchen had food and dishes piled up meters high, and there appeared to be no enforcement of the 'cleaning up after yourself' rules. If you want a backpackers in the Cronulla area, go somewhere else and pay less. 10/10 would not stay again.
