What a cracker of a goal from Millgate against Melbourne Victory last night. His team (APIA Leichardt came in as the underdogs against the A-League Champions only to upset them on the 79th minute).

The next few weeks marks some important testing periods in our program. . The next couple of weeks will allow our bodies to de-load from a heavy and long endurance cycle where we finished at 6x8 for back squats, deadlifts, front squats and push press. . De-load will go back down to 5x8 at 50%, so this is your chance to work on technique while allowing your bodies to rest.... . Then.... . 8RM testing the following week will see us go for 1x8 reps of the same lifts. . Following that will be a 1RM testing period where we will be going for 1x1 (this time, we’re including the snatch and clean and jerk). . As always, please give your bodies time to recover by stretching and rolling out, always with the goal of improving your range of motion. . Please holler at us if you have any questions. . Our next cycle will begin on Monday, 1 October where will start preparing for the CrossFit Open. Member of the Month - Chaf . Chaf started with us 10 Months ago and not only has he has been incredibly consistent with his training, but is always working on his skills before and after class. . Chaf’s hard work and dedication has also shown in his substantial increase in strength as well the skills he has adopted very quickly such as bar muscle ups and handstand push-ups.... . Member of the Month - June . Jess Fisher aka ‘The Fish’ has been an incredible athlete to coach and her dedication and drive are second to none. . Only having started CrossFit last August, she has made huge progress. From not being able to do a single toes to bar she worked tirelessly after each class to practice. Now she is able to string them together during WODs. She has also added over 20kgs to her clean and jerk in that short amount of time and not to mention, can now... walk on her hands. . What we want to honour about Jess is her hunger to want to learn more. She is currently taking part in the gymnastics program being held by Hailee Jarrett and is one of the most consistent students, not just with her attendance, but is always doing her homework, whether at the gym, or at home. . Jess is an absolute pleasure to coach. She celebrates the wins, but is one of the most humble athletes you’ll ever meet. .
