If you decide to cancel your current visa after you have applied for another visa, the Bridging Visa A that was granted on the basis that you have applied a new visa while holding a ’ substantive visa” will also be cancelled. 😨
You may be able to apply for a Bridging Visa E (BVE) that will allow you to stay while your new visa application is processing. However be aware:
... 1️⃣ The BVE does not have travel rights, therefore you will not be allowed to travel while holding the BVE. ✈️🚫 If you travel outside of Australia, your BVE will cease and you will not be able to re-enter Australia on this visa. This condition cannot be waived.
2️⃣ Generally the BVE does not contain work rights. 👷🏽‍♂️🚫 You may be able to waive this if the minister is satisfy that your circumstances meet the requirements. These circumstances include financial hardship.
