Culture Convo

Hosted by three millennial monkeys, the Culture Convo is a celebration of tradition and heritage by passing on stories in a casual and fun way. The ‘Traditional Folktales Translated Millennial' podcast series speaks for itself. It's a rekindling of culture for those who may not have had it in their lives, whether if it's because you grew up in a Westernised culture (like me), or your family didn't really broach the topic (like my cohost, Eric). Through an abundance of memes, expletives and hashtags, we explore the cultural values hidden within the traditional stories passed down, making it more accessible to a modern audience. Our aim is to have collections of stories dedicated to specific cultures, with our first collection being Chinese folklore. The core of our content is to foster appreciation of diversity as well as interest in non-westernised history of our individual cultures. The blog is the more academic counterpart of our podcast, with links and explanations of certain cultural norms, origins and intricate socio-political connotations behind each folktale with scholarly depth. Culture is complex, creative, and crucial. So let's celebrate it.
