Brilliant service team and call centre will buy my next car from there
Well trained and well presented sales persons.
We bought a car from there a few months ago. We had constant problems with it, and it was such a battle to even get anything done about it (was still under warranty). Bryan, who 'manages' the used car department, seemed to know what he was talking about upon selling the car.. but once sold, turned into quite a rude, immature little individual. Will never ever have anything to do with them again, and hope no body else does either. It's a shame a company like this some how manages to keep running. Bunch of bullies perhaps.
We've bought a few used cars in the last couple of decades, but Cumberland Ford was by far the easiest experience. They gave me a really good trade in price right up front, no extended haggling. The exchange was quick and easy -- Most car yards will try to sell you all sorts of extras, from finance to rust prevention, window tint, paint protection, extended warranties, etc, etc, and there's usually a lot of hard-sell. None of that with Chris and Brian at Cumberland. Drive in, sign the papers and take your new car home with a minimum of fuss. They also quickly sorted out a warranty issue, and gave me a free loan car while it happened. I'd buy again from these guys.
Good place to buy a car good customers service very helpful.
John in service was more than helpful, His communication was 10/10. Thanks heaps guys, well done.
Not crooks, but perhaps the sloppiest guys in the business? This was my experience from most recent service (Feb 17)
* When booking service I was on hold for extended time, the rather helpful receptionist noted wait time and took my details down and said someone would call me back to book appointment.....although no callback ever received
* After rebooking, at the actual service I asked Cumberland Ford to check rear pads as I could hear a grinding noise - they reported "plenty left" on the pads and noise was most likely just dirt and would clear itself.....after 3 days of hearing same noise I went to another mechanic for 2nd opinion and watched him physically pull pads off vehicle which were *completely bare* - ie: I had been grinding metal (I have retained pads and have photos). Not happy at needlessly having to replace rotors due to Fords incorrect advice
* Massive rattle in dash/engine area the moment I drove out of Cumberland Ford - I rang them to ask if they could have a look. They informed me that "rattles aren't covered" and hat they didn't touch the dash area - they noted my complaint though and that the service manager would "get back to me". Also complained about lack of callbacks (no callback ever received).
After two days I got jack of listening to the rattle and tried to diagnose myself - found that tech had left a tool (some type of extension bar) in the engine bay
I then returned tool and showed pads taken off the vehicle - they apologised, said they would get back to me over what they could do with rotors. Complained about lack of callback (no call ever received)
Ford, why advertise free loan vehicle with every service - it's clearly setting unrealistic standards which you can't live up to (I've never been able to secure a loan car)
Ford - too hard, too much hassle, next car won't have a blue oval (not due to the car itself which is fine, but due to the fact you can't handle the servicing)
