Cyren Bar Grill Seafood

My husband and I had friends across from UK and went to this bar for a drink after a night at Theatre. It took 20min to get served as close to twenty people stood in a cordoned off section of the bar trying to get served. Service diabolical and any bar that takes more than a few minutes to serve a customer should seriously look at their staff and their abilities. 5 staff members 2 of which chatted and another one cleaning up, a complete joke. Will never be back. Do yourself a favour and walk into the City, plenty of good old fashioned pubs there would lover your custom. We moved on very quickly indeed.

My wife and I visited for a late breakfast on a Sunday morning. The service was quick and polite and it wasn’t too long before our food came out. It was genuinely all right but nothing too special. I had a breakfast burger that had barely cooked bacon but the flavours were okay if a little pedestrian. My wife had a Mediterranean breakfast plate which tasted okay but was a bit hard to eat and as she said I could knock this up at home. I find Sydney a real challenge to find a delicious cafe breakfast but for the standard far of egg and bacon on bread in different combinations it was all right.

Located beside Darling harbor. You can have a good view of the harbor. the restaurant is really short of staffs. we have to go to the cashier area to get hold of the server to take our orders. goodness the food was served fast. Lamp chop and pizza taste good. comprehensive wine list but i felt the wine is pricey.

We really enjoyed our time in this restaurant. The waitress was very friendly and recommended great dishes. The prices are high but the location mandates that. The steak was perfectly made in the lobster ravioli was amazing. We had light red wine that was recommended by the house which was really really nice.

Dined at this restaurant on a few occasions due to its spectacular location but will not return unfortunately due to the poor quality of the food served and prices charged and poor customer service.
Let me clarify one thing!! I do not mind spending good money on food when it is of high standards. But wasting my hard earned money on average food is disappointing to say the least. To top it off when the customer service is pretty well non existent and poor why would I return.
It baffles me when a business in such a prime location fails to provide an all round enjoyable dining experience!!!.
Management you seriously need to look at your food that is being served to customers and your staff who are dealing with us customers on a daily base.
I always base my honest reviews on would I return ?? On this occasion after having spent $131 for two DEFINITELY NOT!!!

Pleasantly surprised to see they had a Happy Hour on a Saturday when we arrived. Ordered a drink and they gave me a number to bring it over. We grabbed one of the many empty tables and the waiter brought the drink over and didn't mention we'd accidentally sat in the food area. (We didn't notice any signs and there was no reserved notice on the table as we'd seen on others.)
A woman came over and quite rudely told us it was reserved and we needed to move as soon as possible as someone was waiting for our seats. We picked up our bags and jackets as she stood over us and told us "You need to move now." to which I told her "Yes, that's what we're doing." We stood at a table in the bar area and watched as the table then sat empty for the rest of our stay. Not sure what that was all about but the rudeness left a bad taste so we moved on.
The drink itself was fine and the music was good. Just don't go crazy and try sitting at an empty table!

Absolutely terrible service. We ordered a few drinks but were NOT allowed to sit as seats at the bar were full and the EMPTY restaurants seats were reserved for diners only.
We tried to seat near the back but were asked to stand at least 3 times. A good half of the restaurant was empty. We stood by the doorway for half an hour as waiter rushed passed us. Waited for 30 minutes for a seat and by then, we had already finished our drinks.
Will not be coming back.

$10 pizza offer at happy hour! Great value for a decent size pizza. Staff seemed friendly. Seated ourselves, all the free tables still had plates etc from the previous people. The waitress didn't clear until our pizza was brought which was a shame as the food and drink was great.

We've eaten at Cyren Bar and Grill a few times and have always had a good experience. It can be a hectic crowded place, so it's not somewhere for a quiet chat. The food is good with a reasonably priced and varied menu. The staff provide friendly, helpful and efficient customer service. It's great to sit at window or outside table enjoying your meal with a glass of wine watching the people go by.

I gave Cyren two chances, and both times it let me down! The first time my partner and I ordered the salmon and seafood basket. The salmon was SO salty till the point where it was literally inedible. The seafood basket on the other hand was absolutely tasteless, especially the chips.

We decided to give Cyren another chance, and ordered the Marinara Pizza and some onion rings. The pizza was also absolutely TASTELESS and the onion rings didn't even come out until we questioned about them towards the end of our meal.

Not only is the food a let down, the service is just as bad! On both occasions we were served by rude, irritated waiters that glared at us whilst we were ordering, but only acted nice to us at the end when we asked for the bill, probably because they wanted a tip.

Besides the nice view, I highly do NOT recommend you dine here!!!

Fish was quite nice... that's it though,
Mains and Entree came out at the same time, so by the time you get though the meal it's cold.
Chips were just chips, no coating or anything... and at $42 what are they thinking....
We also had to get our own salt & pepper from another table...
They served water in glasses straight from the dishwasher so it was warmer then room temp.. (I think some ice or in the fridge would be a heap better)
And at the end of the night you get a nice surprise... a $10 surcharge because it's SUNDAY...(& and Pub Hols too)
Would be nice to know this...

They never once asked if we enjoyed our meal, and at payment, nothing was said "Choose your level of service" (regarding the $0 tip we have....)

Incredible menu, breathtaking views and friendly staff...what more could you want? We booked a waterfront booth for Easter Monday dinner and was not disappointed. The menu is varied, from pizza to seafood and pasta and steak in between...the kids menu is a treat and includes drink & dessert. Highly recommend the chilli, honey cheese bread.

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. I booked a table in advanced and received something very close. We ordered our food which took a while to come out despite it only being around 5.30pm and was relatively empty.

The entree was very poorly done, wasn't dressed well and only had about 3 pieces of octopus. I basically paid $20 for some leaves.

I asked for tap water and the staff brought out a bottled water and charged us $10 for it.

By the time the main meal came out, the dish mainly consisted of a mixture of hot and cold chips and a steak that was way overcooked and chewy to eat. The waitress was also generally very unhelpful and unenthusiastic and did not meet the expectations I thought the restaurant would have at that price. I personally would not recommend.
