Great place to go with a large group of friends! Meals are quite large and the music is great! Good variety of beers on tap and service is fast! Can be pretty busy so is better book in advance! They have a 2 for 1 meal special in one day of the week that is definitely a good deal!

Daniel Sun was one of my favourite places to eat in Manly and it is still great. However I am very disappointed to see that the beef and soba noodle salad has gone from the menu!!! Please bring it back!!! I had the new salmon on buckwheat salad which was unfortunately a little bit of a miss for me. It was over dressed with too much sweet dressing. The salmon was over powered with the thick dressing and the buckwheat just didn't have a good texture to it. Maybe pan fry it for more of a crunch? It was a bit powdery. Hubby had the steak and it was as wonderful as always. Overall the other dishes are still fantastic and the kids love it there. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff....just please bring back my favourite salad!

I'm only giving two stars as feel I need to give constructive feedback, it could have been 3 or 4 should I had had a good experience.
Decided to come here for drinks and dinner as had come here 3 years ago and had a good experience and liked the look of the Tuesday 2 4 1 deal. Looked at the menu and was happy to see that tofu and fried veggies were on the menu at $14. When asking at the bar I was told two for one was only on the new laminated menu one bar. There was not one vegetarian choice on this new menu. This isn't usually an issue as most venues will accomadate when asked what the vegetarian option is. I asked the waitress who then asked her manager. Unfortunately she came back saying that there was no vegetarian option available on the 2 4 1 menu, she was nice and apologetic. I was very disappointed to hear this and felt discriminated against for being vegetarian. I was surprised that the cheapest main meal of tofu and veggies could not be included in the the 241 deal and that we would have to buy two separate meals in order for me to eat and not enjoy the Tuesday deal like everyone else in the restaurant. I would advise that this menu is adjusted accordingly to include a vegetarian option and that the manager consider his/her inflexible approach to customer service.

After various recommendations from well respected friends, I decided that Daniel San would be the perfect venue to entertain my parents for their 40th wedding anniversary. The staff were friendly, helpful and catered to our needs without burden. My mother, god bless her soul, is gluten intolerant but this was not a problem for the bar and restaurant staff. The manager on Duty, I believe his name was Andrew, ensured no Gluten came anywhere near my darling mother all night and managed to build quite a rapport with her. My parents and I had a lovely time with Andrew and the team and we are already planning their 41st anniversary, of course at Daniel San.

The food was top notch, so very tasty and well presented. The staff were great.
The atmosphere is what made it the full 5 stars for us, the music was really good and not too loud that we could not talk, the decor was fun, cheeky and perfect for the venue. The prices were fine for the food, drink and location.
