Very helpful staff, willing to go above and beyond. Ranges are not as extensive as other DJs However this is to be expected in a "regional" store.

I'm not too sure about other departments because I only ever visit the makeup one here, but whenever I'm there the makeup ladies are so wonderful. I'm not very good with makeup stuff, so I had a lot of questions on my mind. Staff patiently helped me throughout the way. Really want to say thanks to the Lancome staff member on during the lunch period on 13/02. She really went above and beyond in helping me :D

Went with mum and sis looking for some last minute Kris Kringle gifts last night in the gift section near the fine china. Once we'd left the store, my sister and I both mutually agreed that it seemed as though the woman working around the fine china section was looking us up and down, keeping her eye on us, and not as though she was buzzing around to offer help or anything. We suspect this was because of how I was dressed - thongs and a cap are a part of summer attire. DJs really needs to bring itself into the 21st century. People don't like to feel as though they're under surveillance, especially by a stuffy, snobby staff. They need to be more personable and more willing to actually help customers rather than judge, especially in a place like Burwood.

David Jones Chatswood Chase, the only place in Sydney that charge you to use a bin.
I asked 2 old women from the furniture section to please bin my cup as I needed 2 hands to carry the 26 pieces of homewares plates and bowls I was buying my mum for Christmas but I couldn’t find anyone closer than them for a bin.
When they realised I wasn’t spending money in their department they very rudely told me to throw it out in homewares, as if they’re paying for each individual bin liner themselves.
If the member from the homewares department who I found on my way out of the store wasn’t so lovely, helpful and overall polar opposite to the 2 women in the furniture department I wouldn’t have spent $330.00 in David Jones today and would have walked to Westfield Chatswood and made my purchase at Myer instead which is exactly where I was headed.
As for the old moles in the furniture department, I sincerely hope secret santa gifts you both a bag of bin liners at your Christmas party this year.

Went all the way there on my night off to buy some armani makeup and there was no one that could help me! Waited for over an hr this evening. Terrible service - worst i have ever had!

Horrible service, incredibly lazy staff. Went to store buy a full price item, although we can see it’s available online, the middle aged staff just can’t be bothered to look in the back room and simply tell us they don’t stock this in store. So find another staff who is more helpful who checked on the system and find two available in stock within 30 seconds, I mean how hard can it be to move a few fingers and do your job right. No wonder you guys are getting pay cut, you totally deserve it.

Terrible service. The staff was talking with each other when I was about to pay for my skincare products. I waited for them to finish their conversation first. The salesperson is not helpful at all. Better shop online at the official website next time if when you want buy a specific brand, and you can even get more samples to try.

Horrendous store. The staff are utterly useless. Went to purchase some La Prairie products and while the woman helped, she had no clue about anything. On top of that because I was "a boy" as she said (I'm late 30's) I couldn't book in to get a facial, which was an offer; you spend $150 on a facial and get that as a credit for products. Nope, she said she'd have to check. This was 3 months ago. Useless. I highly doubt I'm the only male that purchases La Prairie. So I took my two grand and went to the CBD store, they were excellent, and treated me like anyone else. Will avoid Chatswood Chase DJ's even though it's the closest.

Shocking service from David Jones Chatswood, Furniture section. I ordered two rugs on Sunday, 23 April. It took the salesperson 40 minutes to complete the sale! Subsequently, I have been told my rugs will be delivered directly from the supplier. Have not heard back from David Jones or the supplier again. Tried to call David Jones Chatswood on Wednesday, my phone was transferred (presumably) to their furniture section. No answer - though I waited for 10 minutes. No one bothered to pick up the phone. Called the supplier who gave me the consignment number for delivery. Called the delivery company, apparently they do not advise customers when exactly delivery will be made. Apparently, their drivers are not instructed to call customers prior to delivery! Still have no idea where my rugs are. Would not recommend anyone to shop here. David Jones, take responsibility for delivery of products that you sell. It should not be left up to the customer to chase up their delivery.

Nice and clean department store. Prices are a bit dear but that's expected.

Pathetic service! Went in to purchase a washer and dryer valued at $1900. Waited to be served but three staff members walked past us and looked away. Gave up after 1/2 hour. Heading over to the Good Guys.

Was trying to purchase two items, went to a register and the girl asked me to go to another register - she was polite and no problems. But went to the next register, where two male employees stood fussing over a receipt. Neither of them looked up or acknowledged me at all! Neither of them looked at me or talked to me, and continued to talk with each other. Went to yet another register and it was empty, with a line of customers. Managed to finally get a person to help me, but terrible service for an expensive store.

Large size David Jones spread across 3 floors. Great range of menswear for both casual and work. Staff are usually very attentive and helpful.

Very rude and arrogant staff in the pure baby section of children’s department. Undereducated and require a lot more training before they should be allowed to deal with paying members of the public. You have to question the recruitment process of this place.

Despite having 4 barristas, 10 waiters, 2 managers and 220 chefs, somehow it takes 20 minutes to get a flat white out and then another 20 minutes to get a simple avacado on toast out, not to mention that the avacado was half frozen and bland.

I purchased a cake from the new David jones food hall and unfortunately the cake wasn't very nice, it was dry and not very flavorsome. I contacted the store and the immediately called me back and the general store managed (Rashid-spelling) was so polite and apologetic. He offered to give me a replacement product of my choice, and the replacement product was fantastic. Great customer service from everyone involved.

It's simply hilarious and sarcastic how they can put in charge of customer care (!!) a south american lady (MB) with the lowest possible human standard of kindness and politeness. Unbelievable

David Jones The Restaurant - went here for lunch on Sunday afternoon, waited to be seated for over 10 minutes, no one acknowledged us so we sat ourselves down. 5 minutes we sat there whilst staff walked past and I had to ask for a menu. Ordered a starter and a main meal each, starter came and the food was fantastic! Mains came and the staff put our mains down and failed to collect our empty starter plates. Food was great but the customer service was appalling!

Horrible experience at this dump. Got accused of shoplifting when I had no intentions of doing so and all the employees are either arrogant or dumb. Please fire your security staff too before another person gets held up for nothing.

The place offers a wide variety of branded clothing and much more, a bit expensive for a mediocre.. free alterations are available only if u have David jones card which has an annual fee of $296 or something.

Quality products and service over four floors, although the highlight for me is wandering around the fantastic food hall on the lowest level. Of course things can be pricey (quality usually is) but there are bargains, and the word seems to be out based on the number of people lining up for the low-cost freshly-cooked lunches (fish and chips for $5!).

My daughter and i were served by a lovely lady called jasminia in the mimco section. She was so helpful friendly and guided us in our purchases. Thank you jasminia ... you are a delight.

Kept waiting over 20 minutes for a below average coffee and a frozen in the middle piece of cake. Staff are rude and when questioned about their poor attitude they blame the large amount of customers they are dealing with. Begs the question, where is the management?

Came here with my husband while on my trip to the gong. Was happy to find Christmas chocolates on sale at 75% off. The lady at the chocolate section was very friendly. Will return!

Normaly dont review things, but im pretty disapointes with the service in the womens bag section. Was returning an item bought from DJ macquarie Park which i bought a day ago and had a defect which i found qhen i got home. Went to castle hill as its closer they said cant help exhanging and killed coversation pushing me to go back to macquarie park to return. Its the same shop, but no responisbily was taken, no offer of refund. It was quite obvious the girls went away and had a little meeting before coming out and telling me to go where i bought it... Pretty poor service for such a company. They screw up and make me run around to fix it...

I understand that it is their job to follow people around who look like that moght steal but yesterday this one lady took it too far. I had just got paid from work the day before and still had money left from my tax return and i was looking for clothes i saw about 2 weeks ealier when i was woth my mum that i wanted to buy. So i cane back to thr store once i got paid to buy the clothes i wanted. I was wearing jeans, thongs and a jacket. Sometimes when i come into this David Jones i have to ask mum to stand with me so i dont get followed and if she walks away from me for 30 seconds i get followed but yearerday i felt too awkward to look at clothes or even have a conversation with my friend because the lady may as well have been standing next to me. I said to my friend that we are being followed and that i couldnt be f**ked for this and walked up to the mens section and the perfume section and the same lasy followed also talking to a few other ladies working there who then came up to us as i was ok the phone and my friend was smelling perfume. I felt discriminated against and unhappy that i ended up driving all the way to Chatswood just so i could buy clothing for my self without feeling stalked. If she watched from a distance it would have been better, but she was right up close and personal to a point i felt uncomfortable and annoyed. Please get better staff so i dont have to drive an extra have hour to be able to even look at clothes

Don't even bother going in to David Jones at all if you want to buy something. No staff. Went in Thursday 20.10.2016 at approx 7 pm. No staff any where. Went to the ladies shoe section and a staff member from the mens section came over to help as 4 customers waiting. He went into the ladies storage shoe room to get staff and came back out and started helping customers. Eventually another girl bothered to come out of the storage room. Asked her to get a staff member for childrens shoe section. She told me to go looking in the childrens section for staff. Told her I had walked through that section and there was no one there. She said there were 3 staff members and to look again. She then probably went back to hiding and doing no work in the storage room again. Walked through the entire childrens section yet again. No staff. Came to the ladies clothing. Wow. Found a lovely lady who rang and asked some one to come to the childrens section. After waiting approx 5 mins I decided there was no point as no one was ever going to come.

This particular David Jones is tailored for the Barangaroo business crowd. There's cosmetics and shoes plus a lot of business clothes.

The range is minimal and so they never have what I am after but the store is nice and new, easy to get to and employees are ok-ish. Good enough for a quick browse

A very up market DJ's with limited stock. Nice for a quick walk through or a lunch browsing.

Coffee shop "service" is hopeless. When I complained she just glanced at me and didn't even respond. Coffee and croissant shouldn't be too hard but was for this lot. Many other cafes in the immediate vicinity so don't waste your time here.

Love David Jones but really bad service tonight when trying on shoes (Ted Baker) area. Waited for ages for someone to attend the desk so I could ask them to get my size shoe then said she couldn't leave the till...she wasn't there all the while I was waiting?.... And then eventually when she was helping she brought my shoes out... Wrong style. By the time i noticed she was helping someone else, and saw I was waiting to ask a question. No acknowledgement then went out back to get the other customers shoes, and she could have got the different style for me at the same time. Needless to say I had to wait for ages until she was completely finished with the other customers before she helped me again!

This was one of the biggest department stores in Sydney. It has 2 separate buildings with each building going 7? floors. They are connected by a breezeway, so if the weather is bad you do not have to leave! In the middle of the two stories is a super high end section.

They had some decent sales, but we didn't buy anything because after the exchange rate it was just about the same price as in the states and our luggage was already at capacity.

MUST READ - David Jones Tills Rip You Off!

I shop here all the time and I prefer DJ over Myer however you have to be careful. DJ's tills do not apply sales/discounts automatically. This means if you pick up an item which is on sale there is a good chance discounts will not be applied unless you make the person serving you aware. This is especially clear if you move between floors, staff have no idea what sales are happening on each floor.

I have raised this to DJ's via email and they confirmed their discounts are applied manually by their staff. I went shopping there today and I worked out that my items should have been $190, the guy on the till tried to charge me $350.

Myer on the other hand, you can pay for an item anywhere in store and the tills apply the discount automatically.

David Jone's really needs to get this sorted!

Celine bag section. If you care about after sales service then I would advise to steer clear, simple question regarding cleaning recommendations was met with a hurried, almost hostile response.

Refused to recommend anything apart from third party service, claiming that if recommendation was given then they would be liable for damages.
Seemed very keen to get us away from the display and move on to the next customer. Got exasperated very quickly and slightly hostile in manner and speech.

Very disappointed.

To save everyone the trouble of dealing with anyone there I've attached the recommended third party cleaning service, I had to take a photo because they only had one card.

Great after sales service from supposed expert purveyor of luxury brands.

This would be higher but the children they have working at literally useless in all senses. Spent Saturday browsing and was testing some Tom Ford fragrances. I wanted to try the large 250ml decanters, and while I was, the rude little girl literally grabbed the bottle out of my hand and said use the smaller spray bottles! Say what? Look the decanters were mostly half empty and are not sealed; meaning people can use them to try the fragrances. Was just appalled. Just rude and they do it understand what a customer is. However at the La Prairie counter, two wonderful people, Marlene and Iniga were top notch. They both were super friendly and offered many samples and helped my partner and I choose a few different things. She immediately placed me in her calendar for a facial and this was before I even paid. $2K later we walked out with smiles. Will absolutely go back to these marvellous women who know their product and treat customers like they should be treated! 5 stars for them, 0 for the silly little girl at the Tom Ford counter.

Bought furniture. Arrived 1 piece at a time over half a year. The back support snapped off one day and almost broke my pregnant wife's neck. Slow and unresponsive customer care. Took another half year to replace it. I don't recommend the furniture department here.

Was in there this morning, and asked for help, only to be told ... im sorry i only work in this section ... i thought wow very helpful. I get better service in my local coles supermarket!!!

Rushed here for 8.30 am as the DJ's website states David Jones Warringah Mall opens at 8.30. Trading hours listed at the entrance to DJ states 9.00am, and yes, it opens only at 9.00 am. Fix it, please.
The reason I have returned to DJ this morning after shopping here yesterday is that the security dye tag has not been removed from the handbag I purchased.
What a waste of my time.

for the past year this store has just kept going down hill. Need a new store manager and all new staff. Always standing around talking .. that's when you can even find them. Who's in charge to watch the staff to make sure they doing their job?

Went there is buy a Dishwasher during my lunch hour. Found no staff. Left after 10 mins. This was in 2015. Went there again late last year for a microwave. Again no staff. Left. Wonder how this place runs :(

While DJ'S remains a high end bricks & mortar retailer, its time I suspect has been. Recently visited needing a gift. While I hoped I could get help, sales staff were either absent or taking to each other. While it may have just been this store, I'll be sticking to independent retailers or online in future....

I'm an ex shareholder with David Jones. Sold shares when DJ's went very sadly downwards and sold to a South African company. Such a disgrace frankly on too many levels. Not enough staff. Nobody to find. Disinterested staff. Other people from different departments being pulled from their station to attend in a different department to which they know nothing about the product. In the 1980s and 1990s this was the BEST and ONLY Australian department store I would shop and give me thousands of hard earned dollars to because of their tradition, quality and service. Well, that's all just a memory now. DJs is just another department store like MYER.

The food hall is always wonderful - even if only for a wander (it isn't cheap!).

Great hidden spot. Its great to indulge in a rich variety of food. Not out outrageously expensive either for the value of food that you get.

I wouldn't recommend going here if you were on a tight budget, but I would recommend it if you were looking for some delectably satisfying foods, i.e your cold meats, seafood and sweets.

Whilst there was a great and large variety of shoes on an entire floor, there were no where near enough staff available to help with sizing and purchasing. After waiting for 10 minutes to get a size, I asked a staff member (who was cleaning her computer screen and chatting with a colleague) for assistance, she reported that certain staff were only 'allowed' in certain areas/brands.
For a Saturday, this is unacceptable and not only is it not fair for paying customers, it is not fair on the staff who then have to deal with understandably irritated customers.

Great having almost a whole floor of womens wear on sale, but not enough attendants in shoe department. Entire section and desk not manned at all, with noone available for sizing.

David Jones is the world's oldest continuously operating department store in the world. The Market Street David Jones is the mens building with groceries and restaurants in the basement. I really enjoy going here because there is a large range of mens items avaliable. There is a barber shop at this emporium where you can conveniently get a good haircut. David Jones is more on the upper higher end when it comes to quality of items and brands sold as opposed to Myer (which caters more for the lower and working class) all in all this is a beautiful department store that i never get sick of going to.

Very Poor Customer Service. Staff diidnt acknowledge me for at least 2 mins. Busy talking to themselves.

I rarely leave reviews but just had the worst customer experience I've had from DJs for a very long time. Very disappointing. Was simply trying to exchange a belt and left feeling disrespected.

A beautiful store. Really well laid out and always neat and clean. Have shopped in this David Jones store many times especially for gifts, clothing, footwear, cosmetics and Christmas shopping. . Have also enjoyed browsing around here for hours with friends on our girlie shopping days out. DJ’s stocks a lovely array of labels available and the staff are friendly and extremely helpful, providing excellent customer service.

Came up to lovely Lyndell here at the cash register who turned around straight away and started folding a shirt for ages. Then without greetings, started scanning and packing my Christmas gifts in silence without hey how r u, occasionally giving me arrogant glimpses. No have a nice day or goodbye. Not sure if she can't speak or just rude. Hope you get fired for Christmas.

What a great experience this morning at the Bobbi Brown counter at DJ Miranda . Lovely lady Danna ( hope spelt right ) was quick to offer me service .. what a find she was ..couldn't have asked for more in a beauty agent ..helped me find a gorgeous foundation and a few other products I hadn't thought about ...I will be returning to her in the future for more helful advice and insights ... This is one of my first reviews ... I hope it gets back to Danna

Beautiful store with a large selection of the latest fashion trends. Staff are helpful if you can find them! Sometimes I will leave after not being able to get any assistance. I suggest going on the weekend as they appear to hire more staff.

She made my experience amazing! She had Knowledge of every single bottom that SK-11 has put on their market! She was friendly, genuine, kind and patient. She spent 50 minutes with my sister, cousin and I explaining the story behind the product, why the product is worth your money, how it works, how to do the procedure with every single pack and whilst explaining how these products work she also had given up samples for trial! She was beautiful, inside and out! Such a great asset to the MIRANDA DAVID JONES TEAM!
Usually employees under this management is all rush with no knowledge of what is to be sold to customers!
I wish Veda all the best, and that I will be coming for a facial soon!

Customer service non existent especially at the cosmetics counter

Hardly any staff members thus no customer service. I bought some cards today and really had to look for a Cashier on the same floor as I came from upper fl via escalator, and when I did find the Cashier near the entrance/exit on the same fl, she had a habit of 'staring' at customers till customer leaves the store.

Fancy department store. Free wifi. Staff could be friendlier at Sportscraft.

Terrible services at Parramatta store. Nobody would like to resolve the problems for the customers. No one wants to take ownership to fix the problems/products for customers. They just kick you away to the manufacture. Poor management. They do not care about your business at all. If you want to purchase an electric products there you should have a second thoughts. Never shop there anymore.

Horrible service at the Women's Clothing Department at David Jones on a Sunday afternoon. Disorganized staff running the customers to all sorts of unattended registers. Finally gave up and left the clothes I was about to purchase on the register (that was still unattended!) and walked out. Shame since they have all the clothing brands I love to buy.

When you are partly disabled and u are waiting for a nother size jeans and she starts serving someone else and you are waiting and waiting and nothing happens not good. And when you get dressed and tell her not to worry and you get words behind your back in front of other customers not good David Jones.

Was a good environment.

Turning into a bit of a Myres. Lovely helpful staff but many of my favourite designers are leaving and just junky stuff is showing up in its place. Went by last week to see that Alannah Hill had shut her store! Devastating! And they've put sale racks from Witchery in her place. Not at all comparable. It's certainly not as classy or experiential as David Jones was in past. Really dropping their standard.

I will never purchase anything from DJ online again!

My orders has been missing all the time and they said they are refunding money back to my card but they don’t and said to me that they have dispatched it!

This must be a joke! I never have this bad experience with David Jones before!
