David Lanes Studio

David Lane is a local Tintenbar artist, brought up in Sydney he re-located to the North Coast many years ago to focus on his beautiful artwork.

After completing my study at the National Art School in Sydney I moved to the beautiful environs on the North Coast of New South Wales. Originally what began, as a painting trip and holiday became a passion for landscape and seascape painting. I have achieved success in numerous exhibitions and competitions. In 1984 I won the prestigious Canberra Times National Art Award and subsequently won a number of purchase prizes including the Tamworth City Art Prize, The Saint Albans Art Festival Award and the Coffs Harbour Advocate Prize and others.
In the late seventies I traveled overseas and spent a couple of years working and painting in London and Europe. This gave me valuable experience in the European tradition and to this day, Monet remains one of my favorite romantic artists. On my return I settled into a studio home in Northern New South Wales in the hinterland of Byron Bay and have been working as a professional Artist for the past thirty years from this base.
Regional New South Wales and in particular this glorious landscape which surrounds my studio remains a strong visual magnet for the work I produce. However having travelled extensively throughout Australia I have painted a variety of landscapes from desert to ocean.
I continue to be inspired by the Australian environment and successfully exhibit my work both locally and throughout Australia and am represented in a number of collections here and overseas.
