I am a photographer specializing in abstracts, nature and photo artistry pieces. I use nature as inspiration for my work.

Hello, My name is Dean Hohn and the last 5 years have been the most amazing journey of my life!
I'm a self-taught photographer and I had an interest in photography since i was young, but never took the time to study it properly. I picked up the camera again 5 years ago and indulged my passion for photography. I have been studying Photoshop Artistry online for the past 7 years and my study is ongoing.
I was very fortunate to stumble upon a unique area, initially unaware of just how unique, I photographed the area in fine detail and then saturated the images in iPhoto on my MAC computer. What started off as just bland rock with some shape and texture in them came a live with colour and patterns when saturated.
The images were classified as abstract art and I then had them printed on aluminium with a special white coating on it. The printing process is called sublimation printing and the finished image is scratch resistant, UV resistant and washable. The first few images I had printed with a high gloss finish which really made them stand out! Since then they have brought out semi gloss and matte finishes. It depends on the image as to which finish I choose to use.
I have been fortunate to have my work hung in multiple galleries around Tasmania and have twice had the humbling experience of an of mine being selected as a finalist it the Glover Art Prize.
I now use my art to help raise funds for the Care For Africa Foundation to assist with drilling water wells in the 6 villages they support in the Tarime District of Tanzania.
I have used my Abstract Rock Art images to use as designs on tops, scarves, sheer wraps, tote bags and pillow covers. The funds I receive as the designer is also donated to the Care For Africa Foundation.
Photography and Photo Artistry has become my life and it is a fantastic journey that allows me to create on a daily basis!
