Had a f**king slug in my noodle soup!!
I initially thought it was an octopus tentacle while it was supposed to chicken soup. I looked closer and found this little purplish thing to be a slug. Apparently they don't wash their vegetables. Forgot to take a photo before the manager took it back to kitchen. Then the chef came out, apologized and refunded my money. But I am still very pissed.
I used to be a regular customer of this restaurant but haven't visited for a while. I came in today to find that it under new management and its food price increased at lot. And more shockingly, a slug in the chicken noodle soup.
My friends recommended me to try crispy skin chicken with red rice at this shop and so I did. Not only it is superb, I think it is one of the best in Sydney. I read Tash A review before I came there, and got a bit hesitate, but in the end, I guess I trust my friends then Tash A, and I'm glad that I did. I usually wouldn't write review for anyone, but I do this time to say how wrong Tash A is. First of all, I paid $13 for red rice crispy chicken, how on earth Tash A paid only $10 only a month ago ??? Secondly, they do not have omelette on they menu. The closest dish that matches Tash A "omelette" on their menu is Vietnamese pancake for $14, which we all love to have bean sprout. I think they have cheapest Vietnamese pan cake in Newtown, so Tash A, wouldn't they deserve another visit from you with an update review?
This is hands down, the BEST Vietnamese restaurant to pop up in king street for some time. It is decently priced, cosy and the food - unreal. I tend to order the phó or bun - they're always delicious and large servings
Bought pork and prawn egg omelette and crispy chicken takeaway for dinner... waaaaay over priced for mediocre takeaway. The omelette was mostly filled with beansprouts and a slice of pork 2 little prawns for $18!!! Chicken was crispy but expect mediocre tomato rice and a token salad resembling real salad.. NOT worth $28 in total! Go elsewhere on king st with cheaper tastier food!
Amazing food, the tomato rice is superb! Plus the price is very affordable. Expect friendly service with a smile as the norm. Love Dear Cafe.
