Derived from the Latin word for ‘ornament', Decus Interiors is informed by a philosophy that spaces significantly and positively impact our everyday lives. Conceived as a place to experiment with what it means to live beautifully, the studio was founded by Alexandra Donohoe in 2009. Now, after almost a decade of specialising in high-end residential design project across Australia, Decus has developed a diverse and distinctive portfolio of homes that both reject the traditional notions of interiors and perfectly reflect the lifestyles of their clients. Their work has been featured in the country's most well-regarded publications, including Belle, Vogue Living, House & Garden, Est Living and Inside. The sought-after team believes that every design process is inimitable, and aim to create the most appropriate (yet unexpected) response to each client's brief. Decus projects have included everything from reforming an art deco apartment block into a single dwelling in Sydney to the extension of Federation-era home to restoring an original worker's cottage beneath Palm Beach lighthouse. The designers work at the cutting edge of the industry, with their fingers firmly on the pulse, enabling them to source unique materials, furniture and artworks for each project. As well as decoration, the team are trained in architecture, project management and procurement, offering the full range of interior design services.
