Located in Tempe, in Sydney's Inner West, Department of Pretend is, at its heart, a resource for actors. Our primary function is the shooting of auditions, or self-tapes, and the compilation and editing of showreels.

We aim to make actors feel as comfortable as possible, allowing them the opportunity to give their best audition, while offering a service that is both professional and affordable.

We offer a comfortable, relaxed experience with a professional reader and camera operator. There is no queuing with other actors, no rushing through takes, no extraneous noise. Just one-on-one service that suits the needs of the actor and takes the pressure off putting down a screen test.

Auditions are recorded in 1080p HD with professional lighting and sound-capture, edited in-house and uploaded privately to our Vimeo site, or delivered as a manageable file for you to download or forward.
