About Deus Ex Machina Motorcycles

Deus ex Machina (god from the machine)Deus ex Machina Motorcycles Pty Ltd roared into Australia's cultural consciousness in 2006, with some neatly customised motorcycles and a quaint notion that doing something is more fun than just owning something. Deus ex Machina is a step bigger than a brand: it's a culture. Our openness and enthusiasm strike a chord with people, wherever they are…Deus ("day-us") didn't set out only to sell custom parts and hand-built motorcycles, but to celebrate a culture of creativity. The Deus ex Machina showroom /cafe /headquarters in Sydney immediately became a shrine to ‘run-what-you-brung' resourcefulness and street-honest industrial art. The Deus philosophy recalls an era before the various pursuits of fun – motorcycling, surfing, skateboarding, whatever – were marketed into fundamentalist factions. All are welcomed under the Deus roof, where there's simply respect for the honesty and enjoyment of the machine. Inclusiveness, authenticity, enthusiasm. It's a simple and sincere pitch that has winged Deus ex Machina across the world. Deus ex Machina says simply there's no ‘right way' to do individualism, its all the same juice. Since opening the doors at the Camperdown Temple of Enthusiasm Deus has spread its own flavour of internally combustible postmodernism around the globe. The way forward is one down, four up. Great place to hang out. ‘House of simple pleasures’ up on the wall next to the bar sums it up nicely.

Great vibe, well priced stock, friendly staff and really good food! Well done team Deus, Sydney!

Really great retail shop with some beautiful machines. The guy working there, Phoenix, was really passionate showing me some of the bikes. The cafe is lovely as well, nice staff and the open pitta was delicious. The guy behind the counter, Patrick, was really friendly. Great spot for lunch and a browse on a Sunday.

Really cool atmosphere with lots of great visual stimulation for bike enthusiasts. Food & coffee top notch too though limited in selection. Service is fast & friendly.

My partner and I had the green bowl was very average. It was mainly spinach and not a lot else. Unsure of why the reviews are great. Maybe we got the wrong dish. Oh there was also egg shell in my meal????

Cool cafe. Every dad's wet dream, full of motorbike paraphernalia and clothing to ease the fact that we can no longer risk our lives actually owning and riding one. We can't afford to be organ donors, but we can dream..........

I and my husband came to luch but it was so busy all table were full, the stuff welcomed us. She insisted to sit the corner table to wait but I said to her I don't wanna sit she was so rude. If you have a chances don't talk with the stuff especially the girl who says all the time 'darling' stiltedly, otherwise you can't enjoy in there as us.

Review in regards to the retail/ bike shop. Excellent range, awesome layout but most importantly polite and courteous staff. They are really happy to assist

An interesting place for food and coffee. They also take old Japanese motorcycles, add a few cosmetic touches and the add their Deus name to the fuel tank to brand it. The coffee, I'd just give a 3 star, because it's ok, but not a cup you'd say "that was a great cup of coffee"...

What a great breakfast! Amina our waitress was so accommodating to our 3 girls. Even when the bacon roll didn't have the right sauce they made a new one immediately. The most kid friendly brunch we have ever had. Food was excellent, fresh, tasty, quick and coffee was great. Very reasonably priced. Great atmosphere too. Definitely will come again.

The concept of this motorcycle workshop/store/cafe is great but found the hospitality experience is very vanilla. Pricey food items and basic service. Finished my meal 10 minutes ago with unclean plate still in front of me as I wait for the bill. Take away coffee seems to be popular and from what I can see, jam and butter for toast is served on your plate in small plastic takeaway containers - $7.50 for that experience if you dare ;-)

Great food! Close to city and transport

User

Great coffee. Really average food. I ate only half my meal after sending it back the first time because it was cold. Service was friendly but no one asked me why I left half my main. They didn't have any tomato juice to make a Bloody Mary either. Maybe they were having a bad day but with plenty of other places to eat nearby I won't be back in a hurry.

User

Great service but terrible food. Had the bacon & egg roll with avo. It was served to me less than 2 mins after ordering and the bun was soggy as though it had been sitting. The bacon wasn't very tasty and over all the portion size and lack of flavour was poor considering the price.

Coffee is good and waitress was very friendly though I would not come here again.
