Devon cattle are one of the oldest British breeds of cattle. Originating in south-west England, Devons have been a distinct breed for over two and a half centuries. Devons came to Australia in the early 1800s. Australia, Britain, Brazil, New Zealand, Uruguay and The USA are the main Devon cattle producing countries. The success of the Devon breed worldwide is due to its enduring qualities, traits that have elvolved over time that are of great value to the demanding beef industry of today.
