The University of Sydney is looking for adults living with type 1 diabetes for a study of a new specialised fibre supplement. The supplement was previously shown to prevent 90% of cases of type 1 diabetes in mice via the gut microbiome.
Researchers are looking for people already diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, to see if the fibre has similar positive effects on the gut microbiome. If you are interested, please contact Dr Kirstine Bell at kirstine.bell@sydney.edu.au or 0400 167 043.

Having affordable glucose self-monitoring technology available to everyone living with diabetes is an important issue for our community.
Current Government subsidies are only available up to 21 years of age, which does not recognise the needs of adults living with diabetes. Age should not be a deciding factor for Government subsidies.
If you would like to write to your local Member of Parliament about this issue you can download a pro-forma letter from our website and fill in the relevant details.
