Double J Removals & Storage Sydney (Permanently Closed)

I would not recommend this company if you are on any kind of deadline.

While the guys were nice, the service itself seems very poorly managed.

We booked a 9am service and didn’t have the truck arrive until 1:30pm or so, apparently due to running late on another job that started at 6:30am and “getting lost”. We received no calls throughout this time informing us that they’d be late, and whenever we called, they would assure us that they’d be there ‘shortly’. As such, for the first few hours we wasted a lot of time waiting for them that we could’ve used to move the smaller items over to the new residence ourselves.

As we were renting and had to be out of the old residence and have it fully cleaned by 5pm, my partner had to help with a lot of the heavy lifting, while myself and other family members had to transport a lot of items for fear of not being out on time as a result of this huge delay, which was not part of the original plan at all. This, in turn, shortened our time for cleaning which could affect our bond repayment. We also lost all the contents from our fridge as we took them out in the morning in anticipation for their arrival, so it was all spoiled by the time it got to the new residence at 3pm or so.

Overall, it was a hugely inconvenient experience and on top of this, despite offering a discount to me on the phone when I called to query the delay, they ended up charging my partner the full quoted cost at the end of the day, saying they had ‘fulfilled their service’, despite the fact that they were 4+ hours late.

In their eyes, as long as they moved out within the quoted 3 hours, it didn’t matter what time of day they did it.

We used Double J today, the guys were right on time, helpful and professional. I highly recommend Double J Removals team and would certainly use again in future.

Fantastic - I have used Double J on 3 occasions. The last occasion was a Coogee to Coogee move where initially we had booked a "local" company . Unfortunately that company didn't show when scheduled and when we chased said they couldn't be there until the day later. We called Double J and they had a track and 2 men there within 1.5hrs and the move was completed a few hours later. I should have just used Double J in the first place.

We just used Double J for the second time and once again I can't fault the experience - they are cost effective, have great customer service but most importantly they go above and beyond to get the job done efficiently and quickly. The box delivery and removal is definitely a bonus too. I can't recommend them highly enough and will most certainly use them again.
