Dr Irwin Lim, Rheumatologist Sydney

When I first met Dr Lim I was very ill with an auto immune disease that no one could put a name to let alone know what medication to give me. Dr Lim took me on and without hesitation set to work helping me. Without his expert advice, his empathy, his continued care, and his support I would not be here today. I have a diagnosis and I'm on a regime of medications that are making my disease manageable and giving me some quality of life. I won't be cured but I have some control of my illness rather than it controlling me. I'm am forever grateful to Dr Lim he was a godsend at the most difficult time of my life.

I live in a small rural town and I'm not always able to travel to Sydney. I am however able to have Telehealth appointments via Skype and regular updates by email making access to Dr Lim effective and timely. Dr Lim has also been in contact with my GP and he is well informed about my treatment and progress.

Dr Irwin Lim is a great rheumatologist who as well as being extremely knowledgeable is very caring and cares about quality of life. He is very approachable and accommodating, always giving the best possible treatment. For me life changing.

Very pleased with Dr Lim's multidisciplinary approach in helping me to cope with my RA. He is a good communicator, and on time. I have confidence I'm receiving the best advice on the drugs I'm taking , along with access to a dietician and exercise physio which helps me through the day to day of living with RA.

Dr Irwin Lim exemplifies what all doctors should be. I came to him with a chronic knee pain and he was efficient and thorough with the history of my problem. He then took his time to articulate why this was happenning and the different alternatives to treating and managing the pain to help me get the most out of life. I am very happy and assured that I am being looked after very well and with Dr Lim, you never feel like you are just another patient. The staff in BJC health are all very competent and professional and the clinic at Chatswood has just been renovated and is modern and bright.
I am still seeking advice from the Physiotherapist and Exercise Physiologist at BJC Health as a preventative measure so that I can continue to enjoy the great outdoors.

Dr Lim has been my rheumatologist for over 4 years. When I met him for the first time I was anxious, scared and fearful of my future health. I have always been healthy and active and suddenly I was not well, limited by joint pain and swelling affecting my work, everyday life. As I am a doctor too I had some insight into what a chronic illness means. Dr Lim reassured me right at the beginning. We live in Sydney in the 21st century. There has been a lot of development, advances in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Since that first meeting Dr Lim has guided me through ups and downs and now I have been living life without limitations for years. I'm confident in tackling flare ups which happen infrequently. I'm very greatful for the professional medical care and the personal attention I have been receiving.
