Dr Malcolm Hughes - General Surgeon

Dr Malcolm Hughes is a skilled General Surgeon based with consultation rooms in Blacktown and admission right to Minchinbury Community Hospital

Dr Malcolm Hughes MB BS FRACS is the provider of Endoscopy, Colo-Rectal, Skin Tumor, General and Laparoscopic Surgery, holding accreditation in General Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Colonoscopy.

Dr Malcolm Hughes graduated from the University of New South Wales. Dr Malcolm Hughes did his initial postgraduate training in Sydney at St George Hospital, continuing at Canberra Hospital and back to Sydney Hospital. He moved onto Senior Surgical roles in the United Kingdom, initially at The Welsh National School of Medicine, Cardiff and then at University Hospital Llandough, South Wales.

He now has his consulting rooms in Castle Hill and Kellyville. While having no financial interest in any hospital /medical facility, he has admitting rights to Minchinbury Community Hospital located at the corner of Great Western Hwy & Rupertswood Rd, Minchinbury NSW.

Aside from Youth Leadership Coaching and Mentoring, specifically around Health, Sexual Safety, Drug and Alcohol Awareness, Dr Malcolm Hughes has dedicated 15 years of service to the St John’s Ambulance Service. Dr Hughes actively participates in volunteer aid trips in many South East Asian countries, so far numbering 34 trips in a 10-yeartime spann. This has included Short term Aid trips to train local surgeons and provide patient services in Thailand and Kampuchea. Dr Hughes was directly involved with the post-tsunami efforts in Solomon Islands and post-typhoon efforts in The Philippines.

On a personal level, Dr Malcolm Hughes enjoys Remote Controlled Aircraft, Woodwork and is also a licensed Pyrotechnician.
