Meet Dr Mark Dennes. . .

I have been practicing dentistry in Sydney since 1983, and I am just as enthusiastic about quality dental care today as I was when I first graduated from the University of Sydney.

Having been ‘born and bred’ in Sydney, I graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry (University of Sydney) in 1982, and commenced work in full time private practice in the southern suburbs of Sydney.

In 1990, I moved to my practice in the Sydney CBD where I have been working ever since. This city practice has a long history of providing quality dental care. Dr Ral Gabriel, Dr Tim Lloyd and Dr John Kinross were my antecedents in this practice. Indeed, from 1990 through to 1994, Dr John Kinross and I worked together in the practice, until ill health forced him to retire.

It has been a pleasure to have gained many of the patients who had been previously cared for by these fine practitioners, and the practice has continued to hold the underlying philosophy of providing caring, quality dentistry.

Outside of the practice my wife and I have three lovely daughters and we are very involved in church and youth activities with the Christadelphian church. I also have an interest in aviation – I am a private pilot, and together with my father (who is retired and has put in the lion’s share of the work), have completed building an ‘Express’ single engine, 5-seat aircraft – a project that took approximately 5 years. The aircraft has now been flying since 1995 and has taken us to many parts of the wonderful continent in which we are privileged to live.

In addition to flying for pleasure, I also conduct a number of flights for the Angel Flight charity. I find it very satisfying to be able to donate my time and skills to help needy people from rural areas access health care services that they require in Sydney. I hope this helps to explain why you might see a few aviation magazines interspersed amongst the others in the waiting room!
