A photograph is of someone, but a portrait is about someone. Capturing portraits that are personal and tell a story, that means a memory can't fade. I found passion behind the camera and through my lens.
Dtk Photographics Description
Photography for me was my escape, my man cave.
After years of steeling time, to practice my craft I found it incredibly humbling that other people seemed to feel something from what I had caught through my lens. My pursuit of new experiences pushed me to continually evolve my vision. I like to think that I carry my camera now with humour, compassion and curiosity. While I am confident in my knowledge and the skills that I use in my work, I believe I learn from every shoot and I am constantly questioning how can I improve ? How can I refine the process?
The creativity in my portrait work, is the result of collaborating closely with my client, listening to their ideas and imaginings. Sometimes the photo, between the photos is the scene stealer.
It’s important to have those moments to hold.

Someone asked me this week if Photography was still a viable business? Photography is an art form and there are passionate people who study and shoot every day. This is the difference between a quick i-phone shot and years of focus and dedication. Yes, I believe it's still possible to make a living through photography. It's up to the individual whether they want an educated photographer that has perfection in mind every, composition and during post processing. People are willing to pay for exceptional quality.

Well we had a busy week last week with the purchase of some backdrops and boom stand, always ready to help out other photographer who are ready to update. I'm all for up cycling and re-using where I can. Also purchased day bed to add to the creative options in the studio, great for Victorian or boudoir style which we will be offering. A few photo shoots on the books and retouching work to get done, also radio ad's as well. So much is happening.
