Our final sunset at Durras North after 13 years of operating Durras Lake North Holiday Park. It has been a fantastic time living in paradise. Thanks to all guests, "Vannies" and our awesome staff, past and present. Best wishes to the new "custodians" of the Park - Andrew, Julia and Lara. We hope you enjoy Durras North as much as we have. P.S Though we are leaving Durras North, we are still the only people on the planet to have visited each and every Durras worldwide!
Thanks to Cody Buchert for our new cover photo. Please like this page so Cody knows what a great shot this is!
Durras Lake is closed to the ocean! Big seas pushed up large deposits of sand at the entrance resulting in the lake closure on Thursday 9th April. More information here: http://www.durrasnorthpark.com.au/…/dur ras-lake-closed-to-…/
Definitely not one too miss!
Highly recommend this photography workshop this Saturday.
This little guy enjoying the beach at Durras North. Hope it finds the rest of its family when it is returned. The diversity of wildlife in the Murramarang National Park is always surprising.
If you want to take better photographs, then we highly recommend this short photography session. Spaces are very limited. Contact Codes now on 0422733040.
Movies and ice creams under the stars at the Surfboard Cinema - Durras Lake North Holiday Park. A nice way to chill out after a day at the beach.
Congratulations to our "local Durras North" photographer and regular guest, Cody Buchert. This terrific shot taken whilst he was at camping ground midwinter. Fire. Marshmallows and Budget Glamping.
Look what was in Santas sack for our resident kangaroos.
The South Coast Shorebird Recovery Program need your help if you are in the Durras area over the next couple of weeks. Here is why:
Getting ready for the summer season at the Kangaroo Cafe, Durras North. Have you tried any of this local produce? If so, comments please!
Don't believe what you hear about expensive fuel in Batemans Bay. Just 15kms north at East Lynne, diesel fuel is 24.4 cents cheaper a litre. Yes, 24.4 cents! And while you are there, make sure you get one of their famous home made pies!
Chicks on the Beach at Durras North doing well. Please watch out for them. http://www.durrasnorthpark.com.au/news/ch icks-beach/
Remember the young Pied Oyster Catcher chicks that hatched in late October? The good news is that all 3 are in good health down by Durras Lake. Won't be too long now before they can fly which means their survival chances will only increase. A second family is also doing well right at the northern end of Durras Beach. See them regularly and they really are a beautiful bird. Thanks to John Perkins for the photo and his work in protecting this species.
Guess which kind of hotel guest likes Durras North?
Wanting to buy a camper trailer? we are selling off one of our Silverstar Camper trailers - replacing it with a new large Canvas Castle for those who want to come budget glamping in our campground. For more information: http://www.durrasnorthpark.com.au/…/cam per-trailer-for-sale/
Three new Pied Oyster Chicks at Durras North and two nests with freshly laid eggs either side of the lake entrance. The area is fenced off - so please keep your distance. Thanks to John Perkins for the update.
Don't forget the Batemans Bay Caravan and Camping Expo coming soon. Stay at Durras North and get free entrance tickets.
Priceless and pathetic. Allan encountered both on a morning bushwalk at Durras North. The priceless photo - pretty obvious. A few metres further and he came across the pathetic. Really over some smokers not understanding that their cigarette butts are rubbish.
Excellent area to get away from it all. Being a Conjola regular, we were keen to try somewhere new & managed to get a cabin & van spot next to each other over the New Years week for us & mybrothers family. The only negative is the lack of pressurised fresh water which means you need to either bring it with you or collect it from rain water tanks on-site. That’s the only reason why it didn’t score 5 stars. As long as you know this before you start, you can cater for it - all good!
