We had the pleasure of Emma Isaacs dropping in today to sign copies of her new book WINGING IT. Like Sheryl Sandberg, who told us to 'lean in' to find success, Emma wants to show us that you can't plan every detail and wait for the confidence to kick in before you begin; instead, take action now, do what feels right and figure the rest out as you go along. In other words, you've got to learn how to 'wing it' rather than wait. Be quick for your autographed copy! Pan Macmillan Australia

Hive is a compelling and immersive alternate-world story from A.J. Betts, the award-winning and bestselling author of Zac & Mia.
All I can tell you is what I remember, in the words that I have.
Hayley tends to her bees and follows the rules in the only world she has ever known.
... Until she witnesses the impossible: a drip from the ceiling.
A drip? It doesn't make sense.
Yet she hears it, catches it. Tastes it.
Curiosity is a hook.
What starts as a drip leads to a lie, a death, a boy, a beast, and too many awful questions.
Intrigued?? Please join A.J. Betts at our August YA book meet being held a week earlier in July! You'll need to RSVP to eventscoordinator@dymocks.com.au to secure your place. We look forward to seeing you there!

True crime is a super popular genre here at Dymocks Sydney. Here are our current top 10 bestsellers. I'LL BE GONE IN THE DARK by Michelle McNamara has been described by Stephen King as "Propulsive, cant-stop-now reading". The Golden State Killer was found earlier this year, about a month after this book was published. There's another fascinating side to this story. Michelle passed away in 2016 and left this manuscript, her obsessive search for the killer, half finished. Her lead researcher and acclaimed investigative journalist Billy Jensen were happy to do Michelle justice and tied up the loose ends. Faber & Faber Books

I placed an order with you three weeks ago for a book called the Human Animal. I decided to go with Dymocks over some of the other well known online bookstores as I wanted to support Australian business, you had a more expensive price and I assumed that because you are based in Australia it would be quite prompt. I have already waited three weeks and just checked the status of the online order, its expected arrival date is the 27 of Feb! Well over a month for a book within Australia is ridiculous. I think in future you should change your online shopping systems and let people see the estimated time before they purchase and also drop your prices considerably to match other online stores who are based offshore and are much faster. It’s a competitive market with online commerce.
