a love of reading and provides literacy programs to Australian kids who need it the most.

We change kids' lives - one book at a time!

Ensuring all kids reach an appropriate level of literacy remains one of Australia's major challenges. Literacy is not just about reading - it is the foundation for learning. Literacy exerts a huge influence over a person’s quality of life. We know that kids who read on a regular basis achieve much higher results in all other areas of their education, including in the arts and in sports.

DCC recognises that reading is an essential tool for life and has developed unique literacy support projects that encourages primary students to develop a love for books. Quite simply, it’s about getting great books into kids’ hands! While our aims are relatively simple, the results can be profound. If a child learns to read for pleasure, their entire relationship with learning can be transformed!
