- The Command has a residential population of 68, 316 (preliminary figure from 2009 census data) within the Waverley Council LGA, which is one of the highest population densities in Australia.
- The number of tourists visiting Bondi Beach and surrounds within the Waverley Council municipality (including people who reside outside the Waverley Council municipality, interstate and overseas visitors) is approximately 4 million (anecdotal evidence from Waverley Council).
- Eastern Suburbs LAC has a major bus and train terminus at Bondi Junction.
- There are in excess of 100 licensed premises within the command.
- Westfield Bondi Junction attracts over 400, 000 people through the doors on weekly basis with a 3, 500 car park turning over capacity up to 4 times a day.

The Eastern Suburbs Local Area Command has two police stations. Waverley Police Station at 153 Bronte Rd Waverley is the head station and houses the LAC Commander, Administration, Crime Management Unit and General Duties Police. Bondi Police Station at 91 Gould St, Bondi which acts as a shop front and also houses the Criminal Investigation Section and Proactive Crime Team.

The Eastern Suburbs Command is a part of the Inner Metropolitan Region and covers an area of 25 sq km.

The Command currently has an authorised strength of 134 police.
