This is without a doubt the best pet shop in Sydney! The staff genuinely care about the health of your dog. My border collie has had gut issues all her life - each time it happened you could see she was in pain. A trip to the vet and medication was the only thing that fixed it but this was only ever a short term fix and it would return. UNTIL the amazing staff at Edgecliff Pets suggested I try Regal BARF (bones and raw food - the one with the border collie on the box). After 2 days on this I could see the difference and we are now 6 months down the track. Before this, she would have diarrhea several times a month. Her coat is shiny and her gut is healed and we are both much happier. So a huge thank you for the great advice and ongoing care.

Edgecliff Pets are one of the best pet shops there is. The staffs are so friendly and surely knows what they are talking about. I got a few fish from them and all of them are still with me today (1 year) all are healthy and in good condition. I also always get my cat food from them which Tricia (or Trisha) suggested and our cats are very in love with them (one has to go on a diet now). Oh and the freebies. Whenever they have a new thing at the shop they always give a sample which I appreciate so much. Thank you Edgecliff Pets for providing us a 5 star service.

This pet store has the best cat products. As an owner of 3 indoor Burmese cats, I constantly need to find toys etc that will stimulate them and I have found over the years Edgecliff Pets have a great range plus they are always finding new interesting toys & products, which my cats love!

The window mounted cat bed is fantastic! I was abit hesitant at first as I wasn't sure it would be as easy as they said to assemble and mount (was thinking it probably wouldn't hold one of my boys who could lose a little weight ;) but the owner took the time, opened the box and showed me step by step how to put it together and how to mount it. It was that easy and my cats love it (have 2 mounted & sent one to a friend's cat in Paris).

I haven't seen the same selection nor quality in any other pet store, so I even buy from Edgecliff Pets for my sister's (5 Burmese) cats in Singapore....her cats especially love the "chirping birds". They have 3 window mounted beds and I've even lugged over a cat scratching pole because I thought they were so good!

The staff there are very friendly, efficient, informative and knowledgeable which makes my hectic life so much easier especially when I need to buy & or order things in bulk. I have also called to order by phone several times & when they tell me my order will be there by a certain date it is. So, I highly recommend them.

Within hours after I have posted my genuine NEGATIVE experience the owner rallied his friends to provide 5 star reviews. Note the same dates below. Goes to show how "honest" they are. NOT!

I have been verbally, and very nearly physically ABUSED by the shop employee. My children and I were in the area and stepped into this shop to purchase some food for our cat. At first, I was helped by the indeed friendly lady to choose a product. As I was paying I heard the other employee of the shop very loudly and in an intimidating manner talk to my 10 years old daughter. When I finished and went to see her, she was crying. My daughter is a highly responsible child and have been noted for her kind heart by her teachers. She does not lie. She told me that she really did not touch the fish tanks, but the man accused her of it and started shouting (HE DID SHOUT). When I mentioned to the person that he upset my child and perhaps he can speak not so loudly to children... well.. he did his best to upset me. Within seconds he was shouting, telling me that my kids will become drug addicts, pretending injecting himself with a syringe (in front of my young children!), telling me to get out of the door and finally proceeded to intimidatingly pressure me down the corridor with his body frame (HE DID INTIMIDATE ME BY PRESSING HIS BODY FRAME VERY CLOSE TO MINE). My girl was so scared she run out of the shop. I was flabbergasted. I have never ever in my life been treated like that, not by sales people, not by other men. I kept my cool, turned around to face him and asked if he is now going to physically push me. He retreated, but continued to pressure me to leave and push down the corridor. I calmly said that I would like to return the product I just bought, as this type of customer service is unacceptable. By this time he was literally shaking in anger and started shouting abuse again, including things like "you are fat, you should loose weight!" etc etc. How low can you go???

This is plain and simple ABUSE, by a man towards a child and a woman. We live in the times when this should not be tolerated. If he would have hit me (and he looked like he was second from it) I would have called the police. Beware. The business may look nice, but the individual inside is really an abusive man.

UPDATE in response to the owner response: even if the kids DID tap on the glass, this does not warrant abuse (drug references, personal abuse), shouting and intimidation, as horrid as described above. Regardless whom I believed!

My husband and I frequent Edgecliff Pets on a regular basis. Our dog Bennett is always so excited and pulling to get there as fast as he can! The owners and staff are always super friendly and full of helpful pet tips and have a treat waiting for our pup. They've even taught him some tricks! We're happy to support our local small business community and their customer service far exceeds that of the surrounding large pet store chains.
