I ordered an Easel for my daughters birthday. I even called before purchase to confirm it was in stock, so that delivery would be in time.

A week after buying I called to follow up on the status to find out that this hadn't been sent from the warehouse because they are actually out of stock, and that no-one followed up with me on this.

It's bad enough that their website doesn't reflect actual inventory in stock, but that no internal alerts are sent for orders that aren't fulfilled is shocking. It's left to the customer to follow up when purchases don't arrive.

Bonus star for their customer service, which is actually great, they did proactively escalate and follow up once I called, but I had already missed the birthday.

Australian online businesses really need to raise their bar on customer experience, or truely customer-centric businesses like Amazon will eat them for breakfast.
