Don't be fooled by this shonky operator. They advertise cars they don't even have in stock. The old bait and switch. Phil was summons to court for speedo tampering and convicted. He also operates under another dealer name. (Sunrise Cars). The positive reviews are written by Phil. A quick reverse I.P check will show it. Do your homework and google this guy on forums etc. Avoid this individual at all costs.

I have just purchased a 40th anniversary Rover Mini Cooper. I love it and the service and honesty provided by Phil was faultless. I own Bentleys and other prestige cars and his service is as on par to the best prestige dealers in Sydney. He showed me a few cars over several months and never pushed me! When I saw my red car it was perfect. I left a deposit and he went ahead and had the car compliance completed then registered and as promised fix the air and even some external trim. We picked up the mini at the arranged time. It was perfect from A to Z. I honestly can't fault my experience with this guy or the car purchased. I would absolutely use Phil again and plan to do so in the future. 5 stars!

Phil certainly has some special cars. I would buy again from him.

One word - AVOID!
Your money is safer in your pockets. Edward Lee uses dodgy selling tactics to ask for a deposit and pretends on their YouTube how great their cars are. I had a professional inspected one of their car and of course, they claim it's in great condition only to find that it has been in an accident with multiple flaws and no refund on deposit...never trust Edward Lee or his staff!!!

BUYER BEWARE!!!

WHEN I asked the man in the okanuis why he liquidated a business with no debts, he said: “Do I want to go to NCAT every five minutes and defend myself?”

This is Parramatta Road used car dealer Phil Lee, director of soon-to-be-dissolved Edward Lee’s Japanese Auto Centre Pty Ltd — and Edward Lees Imports Pty Ltd, the new company behind the auto-alley mainstay, which continues to trade.

Mr Lee is a big fan of motor dealers regulations that began December 1, 2014. The regulations added a section to the form put in the window of used cars that discloses if a dealer “reasonably suspects” odometer tampering. For cars that don’t have log books and service history he circles ‘yes’ and writes the size of the reduction is “unknown”.

He considers it a form of protection against legal action.
“It’s fantastic,” he said.
He’s less of a fan of NCAT — the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal. He said it was a “lottery” to get money from a company: “NCAT is a consumer advocate.”
In July last year, Melbourne man Tristan Hart took Edward Lee’s Japanese Auto Centre to NCAT alleging the car he was sold in 2012 had gone nearly 100,000km more than the odometer said. He sought $12,000 compensation.

Mr Hart’s main evidence was what he said was a copy of the deregistration certificate issued by Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, which allegedly showed the 1998 Nissan Stagea had been driven 154,900km before being shipped to Australia. The odometer said 62,000km when he bought it.

The NCAT hearing was adjourned because Mr Hart had not provided Mr Lee with the document beforehand. Mr Lee disputed its veracity at the time and yesterday said other NCAT cases relying on such documents had been dismissed. Somewhat ironically, Mr Lee now provides such certificates to would-be buyers on demand.

Tristan Hart has discovered that the odometer on his 1998 Nissan Stagea has been tampered with.
Four weeks after the hearing, Mr Lee put Edward Lee’s Japanese Auto Centre in the hands of liquidators Armstrong Wily. That meant Mr Hart could no longer pursue his NCAT action.

Mr Hart attempted to become a creditor, as did another customer, Kristian Guerrero, who said he believed the Nissan Elgrand he was sold had gone 70,000km further than the dashboard reading, leaving him $10,000 out of pocket. A third man, who asked not to be named, also alleged clocking and claimed he was owed $35,000.

Armstrong Wily director Marc Galler said the three claims “do not appear to be provable ... so at this stage there appear to be no provable creditors”.

There was no money for them anyway. There was only $1 of assets.

Mr Lee told me: “Any smart business puts structures in place to protect itself from attack ... you don’t have your assets in the trading company.

“It’s not a phoenix operation because I don’t owe anyone any money.”

I had not asked if it was a phoenix operation.

Mr Lee registered Edward Lees Imports Pty Ltd two weeks before the regulation changes he believes give dealers extra legal protection.

However, Mr Lee said the main reasons for the restructuring related to tax and employees. He declined to provide detail.

He said he had 350 video testimonials from happy customers.

“I’m not a bad guy.”

Cars are wrecks from Japan with low grading and high mileage. All the speedos are wound back. I had to send my brothers around to the yard to get some personal satisfaction. Phil then coughed up with a adjustment of the money he ripped off me. 300 customers on YouTube are not happy after Phil was exposed for being a thief and bullshit artist.
