A really sad day for us at Emperor today as we held our last large group class at Belmore Park. It’s where we started 9 years ago in the pouring rain and we are so glad we stuck at it. We’ve absolutely loved making so many incredible friends that have trained with us, worked with us, and supported us for such a long time. This is far from the end of Emperor though as we’ll continue with our classes at Pyrmont and will be bringing some small group training to Haymarket. Than...k you to everyone who has trained with us there over the years, we are truly honoured.

Principle 3 For your body to progress no matter your goal, you need variation in your training. Variation can come from increased load, intensity, duration, different angles etc but without a regular change in one of them, progress will stall. Progressively overloading your body with new stimulus will create the perfect environment for growth.

Principle 2. Results of any variety in fitness are the accumulation of consistent hard work. 8 minute abs...nope. Without a large amount of effort, you won’t go far. Find your pride in your work ethic, the satisfaction from working hard will do wonders for your mental health and your physical progress. ... Get to work.

Principle 1.
Real, long lasting results take time. 10 days, 6 weeks, 12 weeks, all these challenges have conditioned us to belief that amazing things happen quickly but results you get fast often go just as swiftly. Whether it be strength gain or weight loss, to keep it for life is an ongoing process.
... Break your goals down to short term steps leading to a long term outlook. Be patient.

We bang on about this a lot because we think it’s incredibly important. Everyone should learn the basic principles of training and diet, it will help you cut through the fads and gimmicks that are thrown at us every day. Over the next week we’ll post a principle a day that we think are the crucial elements required for success. Stay tuned.

Conditioning can be done really quickly. 15 odd minutes, 150ish metre slight hill, sprint up it, walk down it. Wallah!!! You don’t have to do 15km runs if that’s not your thing or in your time frames. #emperorfitness #getfit #fitness #sydney #thegreatoutdoors #health #fitspo #muscle #iifym #fitfam #wellbeing #punchtodayintheface #strength #boxing #mma #weightlifting #kettlebellwarrior #kettlebell #personaltrainer #trainer #fast #strong #empfit #sunshine #strong #instafit #gym #healthy #happy #progress #ilovesydney @instagram

An easy shake up for your training, throw some uni lateral movements (individual limb) to the mix as accessory work. Single arm, single leg, single direction work can help work out imbalances and add new stimulus to your body.

User

Short on time? Compound movements are your friend. Multiple joints, multiple muscle groups, less time to get the job done.

Eat nutrients dense food, drink water, lift heavy things, move around, sleep, laugh, get sunlight. You’ll be winning. #emperorfitness #getfit #fitness #sydney #thegreatoutdoors #health #fitspo #muscle #iifym #fitfam #wellbeing #punchtodayintheface #strength #boxing #mma #weightlifting #kettlebellwarrior #kettlebell #personaltrainer #trainer #fast #strong #empfit #sunshine #strong #instafit #gym #healthy #happy #progress #ilovesydney @instagram

As much as it’s uncomfortable and sometimes progress can be slow going, stick to the course. If you quit when things get tough you’ll be right back at the beginning when you inevitably try again.

A strong upper back can do the world of good to prevent injury and improve posture. If you’re getting tight through the neck and shoulders during the day, implementing some strength exercises to this area may well be a part of the solution.

In close to 10 years of training people, we’re yet to find anyone who genuinely doesn’t have enough time to exercise or look after their diet. If you’re not doing it, it’s simply because it’s not a priority for you. Don’t lie to yourself, figure out what’s stopping you and if you want to change it, find a way to do it. Nothing will change unless you do.

Trying to avoid hitting the dots because they hurt my delicate hands but also in the hope it’ll help a bit with accuracy because realistically, what good is having power if you always miss? #emperorfitness #getfit #fitness #sydney #thegreatoutdoors #health #fitspo #muscle #iifym #fitfam #wellbeing #punchtodayintheface #strength #boxing #mma #weightlifting #kettlebellwarrior #kettlebell #personaltrainer #trainer #fast #strong #empfit #sunshine #strong #instafit #gym #healthy #happy #progress #ilovesydney @instagram

Remember that Carol’s recent weight loss anecdotes do not trump the proven science of weight loss. It doesn’t matter what someone you know did or didn’t do to lose weight - they lost it because they were in an calorie deficit. End of story.

Training with people who support you and want to see you get better is the best thing about group training. Knowing other people are going through the same challenges is a comforting feeling.

Conditioning comes in many varieties. Rob here is starting his training for a surf trip in a few months so we’re doing some surf specific work. Paddling under fatigue, dealing with unpredictable breathing rhythms, and ability to be dynamic while exhausted play a big part in making #surfing enjoyable. If you don’t train for it, you won’t be ready for it.
