Due to injury and a chronic illness, I was forced into early retirement. What made this decision even more difficult was my husbands work situation changed around the same time and not for the better. After 35 years with the one company, he found himself out of work when the company went bankrupt.
We were soon to discover his superannuation was well below what it should have been and he lost all his long service pay because of the company going bankrupt. Our future retirement was not looking as rosy as we thought.
But then God! We were supernaturally blessed with the resources for my husband to start his own business, repairing, rebuilding and servicing industrial machines while I took care of all the admin for the business.
Much of our business is in the mining sector. Our business was growing rapidly, looking healthy and able to support us comfortably. Then came the GFC and carbon tax! The financial ripple from the carbon tax has been catastrophic for the engineering industry across the board, right down to the lunch vendors who provided lunches ho starts a business at that age? All my friends and family were preparing or already retirement.
I was really happy doing our business admin, being a hands on grammy doing school runs, attending school functions, having quality time with my daughters and friends, helping to care for my elderly mum and co-ordinate a very large Playgroup for our church. We were managing OK, life was good and I certainly had no time for building my own business.
One day I spoke with a friend of mine about a new skin rejuvenation cream she was promoting. I was drawn to her Facebook post which was promoting restorative nutritional support for children in 3rd world countries with every purchase of a new skin rejuvenation cream. I was soon to discover this was through the companies Social Entrepreneur program. I was sold. I not only chose to purchase the cream but I also decided to join the company because of their commitment to provide nutrition to 5 million children in desperate need.
Not knowing what the business entailed or even what the products were (apart from the cream) I grabbed a hold of the opportunity with both hands, jumped in boots and all and haven’t looked back.
Now 3 years later I can proudly say I have reached the well respected position of Executive Director within the company. Apart from earning a better income then when I was working in my traditional job. I have earned a 5 star trip to China in 2014, a luxury South Pacific Cruise for my husband and I in 2015, an incredible trip to Dallas and New York in 2016 and Las Vegas 2017.
My hubby and I can personally attest to- and most people know- the Employment and Self Employment sectors are no guarantee to future security.
Today, no one dictates to me the hours I must work, what I must do or how much I am able to earn. Network Marketing is said to be the business of the 21st century. My husband doesn’t carry the financial burden squarely on his shoulders. My business is structured around my lifestyle. My life is my own. I have complete freedom to choose my hours- around my lifestyle. Do I work hard? Heck yes! The difference is I now work hard for me. I’m the boss! I am creating wealth for my hubby and I which will be inherited by my children and grandchildren. I’m no longer working to build someone else's fortune, I'm building my own, fulfilling my dreams and securing our future.

* My husband feels confident now that no mater what happens, should something happen where he can’t work, I can look after things financially. The burden on him has been lifted.

*My health is the best it has ever been. For the first time since I was 26 years old, my hospital tests all came back saying NORMAL, NORMAL, NORMAL. I would never say I am healed, I’m not, however our products have given my body the best chance possible to heal itself and if that’s not enough my business provides nutrition to over 220 children a month. *Yep, life is good!
